Okay, so I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-AH7.
It's running on Vista Home Premium 32-bit
On Wed night, I was able to watch videos and listen to music
And then on Thurs night, my Google Chrome stopped working and so did the sound.
There is no yellow mark next to it in the device manager, and the volume icon in the tray looks normal too
When I start up iTunes it tells me there's a problem with the audio drivers or something.
I've updated like every single possible driver from this page,

I even installed SP2 thinking I was missing some critical update
but nopee my sound still doesnt work

A month or two ago, my computer got infected with graybird.backdoor because I downloaded sims 3
I haven't deleted sims 3, so i get rid of it, but it comes back up again.. could that be the root of my problems?
On thurs, I went on vacation and the only thing I did differently with my computer is I used a wire from the hotel for internet connection but that can't possibly mess up the sound

I've tried to do system restore too but for some reason my computer had it turned off argh
and now when I start up my computer my pointing device comes up with an error saying a .dll is missing, but my touchpad works just fine anyways.

Please helpp I'm going crazy I searched all over the internet but nothing suggested works ==;;

try using a live cd (linux) to see if your sound still works there, if it does than its probally some software problem, if it doesn't than you blew out your speakers lol
