okay so this should probably in the tech section but i felt since i'm specifically looking for one to record college lectures it is also appropriate to post this thread here.
so i'm looking into buying a voice recorder but i've never used one before so i don't know which one would be best to buy. i was hoping you guys could recommend some. i'm looking for something that is affordable (no more than $50), will give me good sound quality without having to be put right in front of the professor, and something that has a long battery life.
thanks!

Do you have an ipod?
I use the Belkin voice recorder and it just plugs right into the bottom of your ipod.
The only downside is that it drains the battery pretty fast, but if you have a lot of time between classes you can just recharge your ipod.
I like it a lot, it's convenient

^Usually it's polite to just ask even though most of them will say yes (in my experience anyway).

thanks guys
i ended up buying a voice recorder by sony but the quality was really bad considering how much i paid for it so i returned it when my brother told me his mp3 player has a recorder on it. it actually works amazingly well the sound quality on that little thing is awesome.

most professors i have say on the first day of class that you could record them but if not then most people ask and they always say yes.
