I've never had an issue with playing video/audio files on WMP till a couple days ago. Whenever I try to play a video/audio file it says there is some kind of error, and when I click 'web help' it says error message C00D11B1.

Here's the weird thing, though: I can still import CDs and play their files completely fine. Does it have something to do with downloaded files or what?

yea, typically it's from downloaded illegal files..
i got that error so many times i stoped using media player and downloaded winamp which will play anything regardless.
