I think it's time that I started to study for the SAT and with the PSAT coming in October I think, what books should I read to get a good score? This is my first time taking the PSAT so I have no experience or clue on what books I should get

The Official one from CollegeBoard is pretty much all you need.

For SAT Reading & Writing, Barron does a good job. But Barron is horrendous for math in my opinion. The questions they put for math are just a huge headache.
Princeton Review is pretty good for overall of the SAT. And of course, the collegeboard blue book is good for SAT prep, although they don't provide any explanations. However, you can probably find explanations to the blue book by searching through forums online, or even just asking your English/Math teacher for help.

I know this is kinda late...but maybe other people will find this useful? =)
I think Barron's is the best. Even though the math questions are ridiculously difficult, it REALLY helped me. I mostly used Barron's cuz Princeton Review (to me) was a joke since the math and writing sections were too easy for me.
Kaplan was mediocre. College Board was mediocre. I felt as if Barron's raised my expectations and made me practice questions that were so hard that when it came to the actual SAT test, the questions weren't very overwhelming.

4 month late reply whoopee haha.
barron's or princeton's review. sparkcharts are really useful for general information.
i don't think you should use kaplan's. i was studying for bio sat's from kaplan's book and it was so confusing.
princeton's review sounds like a friend telling you the concept
and barron's sounds like a teacher telling you the conept haha.
