I was looking to get some headphones. Preferably large ones that feel soft and reduce noise (they don't have to be the noise reducing type).

Can someone give me some products that fit these criteria? I want something very similar to SkullCandy Hesh but without the excessive price.

Sennheiser HD series might do the trick.

I advise you to stay away from Sony when it comes to headphone/eaphone. DAP is totally different story.

Just be gentle with Sony's. Their newest models still sound superior to more expensive European brands just because they are tuned to be more casual-friendly. Sennheiser is overrated, all their over ear amateur level headphones sound the same with junky audiophiles spilling beans over minute differences. The MDR-V300's are a great price. Headphone specs don't mean mini cooper, gotta listen to them to appreciate them.

On a side note.. if you are just looking for neat looking urban headphones that play sound, skullcandy has 50% off sales every once in a while. If you catch one of the sales, they are only $25.

Why on earth would you suggest Skull Candy? Possibly one of the most overrated phones of all time, sure it looks nice but it's not worth the price you are paying for.

BKJSuh, because it is most relevant to what WitchGoddess wants (See her post). Not everyone cares that their headphones produce the best quality sound. More than half the people I see on campus still use generic I-Pod headphones for their day-to-day listening. Some people use headphones as a fashion statement.

the lamenting audiophile vs the realist, hah

I just wish skullcandy would put more effort into sound quality though.. the bang for the buck for those headphones are worse than bose..
unfortunately, a lot of really nice cheap and expensive headphones aren't really ideal for taking out into public >.>

Hope you didn't buy it yet because there is a 50% code.

http://www.skullcandy.com

If you buy over $120? you can get a free skateboard and free shipping =] (before discount so if you put that amount in your cart FIRST, you can get the freeshipping and skateboard THEN apply the 50% off code).
Or if it's over $60, it's free shipping.
PM AkimotoMitsuki, sugarplum892, or pure.sophiestication for ANY S/T manners.

JVC RX700. I bought mine for $40 and they compete with higher end headphones in the $100-200 price range.

I bought meself some Skullcandy. It is nice to look at but not the best sound. You're just paying for the design. Do not buy them if you're looking at quality.

Actually I have a question on this thread too. (I can't seem to post a new topic for some reason.. maybe something is wrong with my browser, so I'll borrow this thread, don't mind me =) )

I have been looking to buying headphones and I am really new with this but I've been looking at the ATH ES7 and Panasonic RP-HTX7.

There is a considerable price difference between the two, but I've read such good reviews/rating on the RP-HTX7 that I'm starting to wonder if its better than the higher priced ATH ES7.

Anyone who knows anything about the headphones, help me out. Thanks!

I tried the skullcandy ones with the amp and I just have to say that the bass is nice if you like bass, but everything else just sounds like crap.

The HD202 are cheap. I got mine for like 25USD tax included and they sound pretty good for that price, but it hurts my head after extended use because the grip is kind of tight.

The one I really want right now, is the Audio-Technica ATH-ES7 or ES55.
Looks sexy and I've read that the sound is pretty good. (the sound gets better after you burn it in)
