Okay so I'm at my last two semesters at my college and I'm a Japanese Major/ International Business Minor but I really don't want to work overseas or teach in Japan (simply because teaching isn't my thing). I'm from Illinois and I'd rather work somewhere that is closer to my family and friends than travel every few months. I know this may sound crazy to you guys, but I've already traveled during my lifetime and have studied abroad in Japan for half a year that I just really lost desire in traveling and I'm satisfied in where I'm at. Also, that major/minor was decided 4 years ago and I just out-grew it about 1 year ago. I mean, I like to travel...BUT knowing that I'll be home in Illinois afterwards. So, I guess my questions are these:
1.) Does your major REALLY determine your career?
2.) Do some jobs only care if you have a bachelor's degree (regardless of what major)?
3.) What can I do with this situation of mine?

1. For certain careers, it does matter what you have, but most jobs can be broken into with time.
2. Yes, there's quite a bit.
3. Apply for jobs. Not sure what else you can really do. You are basically done with your major so you have nothing else you can do but apply for jobs.
