I don't know if any of you are miniaturists here, but I've made some faux foods in the past. They really are addicting!

Here are just a couple links to some amazing faux food I've seen. Sorry I can't post the pics directly, but it'd be pretty impolite to do so since it's not my art. Visit the links below!

This lady makes the most insanely real-looking cupcakes I've ever seen. *_*

You guys should try it out! It takes practice but it's fun and makes your fingers more nimble/precise.

so cute!
How do you make them?
I've always wanted to make those as accessories but never figured out what materials to use.

Most people use polymer clay. I personally use Sculpey, which is really soft. Some more expensive brands are FIMO, Premo, and Kato: these are more oriented for extremely fine artisan/crafting, and they're firmer and possibly tougher to work with.

There's a lot of tutorials on the internet as well, that can get you started with making them. After that it's using your imagination. biggrin.gif

These are adorable and there's no doubt that a lot of efforts and details went into them. ^^

^There's tutorials on Deviantart and you can do a google search of "polymer clay dessert tutorial" or "polymer clay food tutorial". I use sculpey as well. I like making cupcakes and cakes. It's fun and it's not too terribly complicated. Just takes patience and time.
