For an artist of his level of celebrity, (and age) you'd think he at least learned to put on a verbal filter..I do like him as an artist and still think he's quite clever and creative but as a person he's a pile of dung. I hate that he has such a huge sense of self-entitlement..who the hell is he anyway? He is just an entertainer. At the end of the day he's not saving lives or doing anything significant that the world can't live without.

Oh, and I major in criminal justice, I don't need a reiteration of actus reus and mens rea, thanks.
Who said there were legal matters that would require the legal definitions and usage? Actus reus and mens rea can be applied beyond criminal law, you know. Or what, Swift is gonna sue him now?
And I don't wanna hear that "drunk minds speak sober hearts" crap from people. If that's the case, is it wrong for him to truly think Beyonce deserved the award in his mind? No.

Yes, I'm sure the chugging was for looks as well.
You were the one who brought it up the terms earlier o_O I brought up the definitions because when you said those and I looked at it from that (criminal point of) view, it just further shows me that his actions isn't justified just from alcohol, it was his choice.
I'll just say it one more time; he shouldn't have even been drinking in the first place and he had no place to storm the stage and do what he did. He already knew how he acts when he drinks at an awards show, given that that was his excuse for his outburst at the EMA. He's had numerous times when he's done this already or have blogged that he better win so and so award because he's worked "so hard" (like other artists don't?), he already knows how negatively he's affected those around him. This was even worst for me because he wasn't even nominated in the category. Not wrong for him to think Beyonce should've won, but it was wrong for him to take the winner's moment away and humiliate her. His conduct at award shows is completely tactless and classless, I think they should just blacklist the guy and he can concentrate on his music because if he didn't have that I would have no respect for him.

Hahaha!! That's what I just said to my adopted black brother!
Kanye turned a girl's dream moment into a nightmare. When Beyonce brought her out again to give her acceptance speech did anyone catch how puffy her eyes were? I'm talking about Taylor. The poor girl was bawlin' out backstage. Wish I could have given her a hug.
I never liked Kanye's songs because his lyrics don't even make sense. The only good he's ever done was make beats. Should have kept it that way. Now, his head is as big as Ne-Yo's if not Bigger.
That bottle of crap he was downin' was promoting that brand of alc while trying to boost his make believe badboy image. What an idiot. Oh, "George Bush hates Black Peepo"

Lmao.
You obviously don't drink. And you're missing a piece to the big f*cking puzzle. Kanye West always does this sh1t. He's a pompous d0uchebag. Get over it. Drinking doesn't make you an @sshole (in fact it should do the opposite). And yeah that chugging picture makes him look kinda lame cause nobody holds a bottle that high up the neck unless they're trying to appear as if they're drinking when they're not. What a tool. Beyonce has a man, lay off.

JAY LENO: Have a seat, my friend. First of all, let me say thank you for honoring this commitment. A lot of times, people — things happen. They kind of back out at the last minute, or they have a publicist or someone call and say, “Oh, I’m sorry, my client’s not available.” So thank you for coming and doing this, in light of all the things that have been going on.
Tell me about your day. Have you had a tough day today?
KANYE WEST: Yeah, it’s been extremely difficult. I just — just dealing with the fact that I hurt someone or took anything away, you know, from a talented artist or from anyone, because I only wanted to help people. My entire life, I’ve only wanted to give and do something that I felt was right. And I immediately knew in the situation that it was wrong, and it wasn’t a spectacle or just — you know, it’s actually someone’s emotions, you know, that I stepped on. And it was very — it was just — it was rude, period. And, you know, I’d like to be able to apologize to her in person. And I wanted to –
JAY LENO: So when did you know you were wrong? Was it afterwards? as you were doing it? When did it strike you, “Uh-oh”?
More of the transcript after the jump….
KANYE WEST: As soon as I gave the mic back to her and she didn’t keep going.
(Laughter.)
JAY LENO: Let me ask you something. I was fortunate enough to meet your mom and talk with your mom a number of years ago. What do you think she would have said about this? Would she be disappointed in this?Would she give you a lecture?
KANYE WEST: (Pauses for 20 seconds, looks like he's going to cry) Yeah. You know, obviously, you know, I deal with hurt. And, you know, so many celebrities, they never take the time off. I’ve never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause — and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve. Because I am a celebrity, and that’s something I have to deal with. And if there’s anything I could do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I’d like — you know, I want to live this thing. It’s hard sometimes, so –
JAY LENO: Thanks for coming here, and thanks for doing that.
He wasn't joking around, but the audience kept laughing weirdly. I really think he meant the apology, I mean who wouldn't feel bad after doing some mini cooper like that. Well, except yours truly. BTW, all three of them are john teshing fierce, I like Rihanna 25% more now.

I think Kanye West really means his apology. He is very prideful so it takes alot to get an apology out of him.

Leave it to Kanye for taking the spotlight, when he's basically overshadowed any type of celebrity news.
Let's observe some options, because I think you can see this event a few different ways.
Pretend Kanye took up an offer from Taylor's label to do a publicity stunt. Let's pretend that everyone would buy it since Kanye is used to being the bad guy and doing stupid things. Say the label promised that all the artists involved in this stint would gain huge popularity from it and they would cash out big.
Right now the most popular artists are Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Beyonce Knowles. All over the internet, media and tv is just these 3 and a little bit of other artists.
A lot of people claimed they paid little attention to Taylor, but now suddently they are listening to her songs and looking her up and defending her since they feel sorry for her.
Beyonce Knowles with no singles this year is back in the spotlight as a hero for standing up for Taylor Swift.
Kanye, has become the news giant as the most well known rapper right now.
In the future, people will get over this event, because Kanye will keep doing stupid things that will overshadow even this one so its no sweat off his back if he continues being an idiot.
The other way of looking at is is that Kanye really did make some stupid mistakes and it backfired. In any case, at least most of the parties involved are getting a big career boost right now. The way Korean netizens see it though, only good publicity is good for a persons career. The west sees that any publicity is good. I do prefer the safe Korean moral way,
fyi. ..If that was all for real, that was the rudest thing in a long time for celebrity history...
Kanye will tour with Lady Gaga soon..wonder if that has anything to do with anything.
Not saying the first option is correct, but with all that MTV does its definitely a high possibility.

i dont know about his apology, i cant tell if he's being sincere or not, or just trying to cover up the mess he's made.
Katy Perry said it nicely when she twittered: "It's like you stepped on a kitten"
what beyonce did after winning Video of the Year, was really classy though - bringing taylor back out on stage.
