It's not about losing WEIGHT
It's about losing FAT
When you diet unhealthily you lose a lot of MUSCLE - the very thing that BURNS FAT. So you in the end you actually GAIN FAT
When you chose not to diet, but make a life-long decision to eat healthy and exercise you lose fat and GAIN MUSCLE, which in turn BURN EVEN MORE FAT EVEN WHEN YOU"RE SLACKING OFF.

and in the end, when you stop your diet, you'll gain back
the weight you've "lost". Honestly, to lose weight, you just need a
good diet, and exercise. Slow and steady is better for the long run.

And yeah, you were obviously doing something wrong. =/ You should have been able to lose the 5 pounds in a month's time or so.

i lost 70 lbs in 6 months and no stretch marks and ive kept it off for about 3 years now.
sure, doing it the healthy way is "better" because its better for your body, but for me personally it wasn't working.
my body has a problem where if i work out and eat, i gain muscle like really quickly and i didnt want that. i didnt want to look bulky anymore after being big my whole life
so i wanted to slim down which i did it by not eating alot and running every day for those 6 months.
OH! and after like 1 year and a half my metabolism went right back to normal so its not all messed up lol.
also in that year i lost 5 lbs it was cuz i gained a lot of muscle weight and it made me look just as bulky when i wore clothes, which i hated :/

but yah then i caught this kid disease and i could only eat icecream (cuz of these blisters in my throat) for 2 wks so i ended gaining like all of it back
i think when u diet thru unhealthy means the thing it really affects is that it really weakens immune system against diseases

Plus I decided to fix my intake (Fast food, only a few times a month, not much sweets in between meals, eating vegetables more)
and I've been in a pretty alright shape. Lost a few pounds in just 2 months at a healthy rate.
I hate starving myself and I would never do it by unhealthy means.
I don't want to ruin my body and regret it in the future.

Not only do you get worse immunity.
You also GUARANTEE nutritional deficiencies which in time manifest as:
older looking skin => wrinkles in your 20s anyone?
flabby, non-elastic skin => how about some belly flab you can't get rid of, because your skin's elasticity got ruined for life. Or saggy boobs for that matter.
brittle bones => how about needing a hip replacement at 45?
low muscle mass => it takes HARD WORK to build muscle, and CONSTANT WORK to maintain it. But through starvation, you lose it easily. When you starve, you lose muscle all over... INCLUDING IN YOUR HEART.
How about getting winded from going one flight of stairs. How about death by heart attack at 50 mmmmmm?
The more you do it, the worse things you're condemning yourself to. Just because you THINK you get get away with it, doesn't mean you will. Nobody can magically starve themselves and not face consequences.

As someone who has always struggled with poor health, I don't understand why you're so willing to sacrifice good health for a shortcut to weight loss.
Please, treasure your life and health more.
