Hey guys, so I'm pretty spooked right now about this white bump on my waterline. I've had this bump on my waterline for months now (I've been to the eye doctor & all they said was to put hot compress which didn't work) and it wasn't until last night that I noticed it turning white. When I woke up this morning, more of it became white and as of right now its the size of a pimple. It looks like there's some white/yellow pus and I don't know what to do.

Here's a picture, I'm sorry if some of you get grossed out.


Has anyone else gone through the same thing ?

Hi. It's called a Sty.

It should go away by itself within couple of days. If you want to get rid of it sooner use a towel and run it under some warm/hot water and press it on your eye couple times a day. (:

I don't know what else to suggest.. It should go away on its own soon.. since it's white now.. most likely overnight it will pop on its own and be gone. (kinda gross, but you will know when it's popped especially at night because you will wake up with some kinda weird white crusty stuff on your eyes.. that's the pus that popped and dried up. xD)

Yea, it randomly happens to me quite a few times,
it's irritating but then it gets better so it's whatever.

yes i had the exact same thing!!
it went away by itself eventually...
why do we get stys?
is it due to bacteria or uncleaniness or ..?
i dont want to get anymore

yup its a stye....hot compresses should work, but perhaps u arent doing them correctly? ideally the compress u are using needs to be pretttty hot in order for the heat to do anything. leave it on you eye at least 5-10 minutes, then massage [pushing motion up under your eye]..repeat at least twice a day.

it'll disappear soon if its already starting to express stuff.

fantuan17 you get styes due to poor eyelid hygeine, u can think of it as a low grade bacterial infection. incredibly common...id advise cleaning around the eyes better + removing makeup properly...my glands block up a bit when i dont remove my eyemakeup properly..

i had that lol, i poped out the white thing lol.. yeah ew, probably not the best thing to do, but it went away although i still have like a small bump there... since forever lol.

I woke up one morning with something like that o.o;

If it's a pimple it'll go away, I mean I left it and after the day ended it popped itself and the fluid oozed into my eyeball T_T it was gross and made my vision blurry for a while but it didn't hurt at all lol

Just don't poke it... If it really is a pimple... XD

touch it with dirty hands, or better any hands

because if you do it will grow IMMENSELY
and it won't be a white bump anymore, it will
be like an actual red pimple on your eye T-T
it never happened to me but i saw one person
who had it because he touched it so much.

the dreaded sty !
these are so irritating...
'caused by bad hygiene or something i believe,
so make sure you don't share eye makeup such as mascara/eyeliner,
and use clean stuff etc etc.

mine didn't last for months though o-o perhaps a few days...

i usually just leave them and they go away.

So a little update: I repeatedly cleaned and put hot compress on it last night and this morning when I woke up, it grew to a huge white ball. So I took a q-tip and began cleaning it when the white ball .. peeled off o_O but now there's still a tiny bump there.. it's really annoying. Does this mean I can't put on eyeliner there? Cus before when I put eyeliner there, I'd always clean it very well since I got a stye on my other eye .. what other causes could it be?

^as in the 'white ball' popped off? probably means the stuff is starting to come out...and if theres still a small bump its either due to inflammation or there is still more stuff that needs to come out. keep cleaning, its good hygeine u need.

i had one of those for a few months before, i'm not sure if it's the same as yours, cause mine was a bit smaller, but i went to my doctor's and he gave me some cream for it, and it went away in about a week.

I kept touching mine because I never had one in my whole entire life and I was pretty much freaking out.
It grew huge and it was there for about a day, but then it just popped that night when I was asleep .. and it's been gone since!
Put some hot tea bag on it, it helps as well

i had that too in the past
freakin' annoying, it felt like there's something in my eye, but I couldn't remove it.

i didn't do anything,
the next day when I woke up, it already "popped".
and 2-3 days later, the scar was just disappeared..

stop touching it, u would just make it worse.

and it made me look like i had bags under my eye.
