So.... I'm 18 years old, and I've just always liked older guys, always, even in grade school, I've never dated anyone my age, it's just how it is. And I have a crush on this guy and he's 10 years my senior... he's older than my eldest brother, who is 26. I mean this guy will be in his 30's before I can even legally buy myself a drink!
I like to think I'm mature for my age, people always think I'm older than I am. I hang out with a lot of people who are older than me, except for when they all decide they want to hit up the bars in town hah. 28 is just really old, but I really like him, but i dont know if it would really work.

I wanna know what you guys think about dating older people, guys or girls.

I don't think there's anything wrong with liking someone who is much older than you. However, it comes down to dating someone who is much older when you are not even at the legal age (varies in each country), I think it's gross. I'm not saying it's wrong, but from my point of view, it is as though the one who is older is a "pedophile" and the young one is his target. Not to mention, imaging someone who is your age dating someone who is in the same or near the same age group as your father (or friend's father - since some people do have kids at a "young" age) is kind of.. creepy.

Sometimes age can be a factor in relationships. I hear stories how 20 or 30 year old people are married to 60 years old or so. The younger one will get tired and angry of the older one because they can't keep up with them (in terms of their health and lower levels of energy).

It is honestly a case by case basis, but if there was a general rule... it's you shouldn't date a person who is in a different stage of life than you.

I am a senior in high school, and I would think it's wrong to date a junior high school student or a college upperclassmen for example (for me)

"Someone's got issues" comes to mind... but eh, isn't that love?

I don't trust anyone who dates younger because I just imagine some sort of sick immature mind in there thinking cradle snatching will fulfill their empty miserable lives. My imagination, I say.

And..I don't have anything to say to the naive ones dating older, thinking all the boys their age are immature and stupid, and that an old man who dates younger is perfect for them.

Just how I see it.

I think 28 would be fine if you were like 20, but since you're 18, it's alil ehh... age diff don't really matter after you turn like 22 but for now, you should stick to sb within 5-6 years of your age lol.

i'm 20 and my guy is 33... at first i thought it was like soooo weird.. but now it doesn't even bother me because i really like the person he is. my friends are iffy about it though.. but i don't blame them... you don't really know how it is unless you're in the situation.

Divide his age by two and add 7. If you are more than a 1 -2 years under that age you might wanna reconsider.

Age is just a number why make it stand it the way of your happiness?
If both of you are mature enough and think you can commit, then go for it.
My parents always tell me to marry at least 5-10 years older than me
because at that age the guy already probably has his life together and can take care of you
more than someone who's still trying to find themselves. Maybe, wait till
your 20 or something though if your worried about what others think, any relationship
can work out if you try to make it work.

at first i was ehh about it since i didn't know what people are gonna think. but i don't care anymore since i'm happy.

i'd say, rule of thumb: when you're both legal, anything goes.
however, she/he does make a good point.

I don't think there's anything wrong with dating someone older than you.
Just as long as s/he is not older than your grandparents, you know what I mean?
And just as long as you're 18 or older -- the legal age, haha.

I remember when we kissed, I still feel it on my lips.
the time that you danced with me, with no music playing.
