Hey guys, I recently bought a used 60 GB PS3 that is 100% backwards compatible to play PS1, PS2, and of course, PS3 games. I want to replay the old Final Fantasy series and some other games from PS1 for ole memories sake, but the problem is that PS1 games are really hard to find and if you do they're usually overpriced. I know there is Amazon, eBay, and Craigslist, but I was wondering if there are any stores that sell them? I tried 3 GameStop stores and they don't have a single PS1 game, but what about a store named GameCrazy? My friend told me about the place, but I haven't been there yet.

The Big PS3s were PS2/PS1 backwards compatible. The new Slims are not backwards compatible at all.

The only stores that I know that sell PS1 games is VintageStock. I wouldn't even buy from them because they sell em way over priced. $55 for Final Fantasy VII? GTFO VintageStock.

lol, I checked eBay and some people have the original FF7 (the one with the black stripes and not green that says Greatest Hits) that is not opened and it goes for $70+ and even $155.

You can just download it for free, ya know. Sony's throwing it away when they had the PS3.

really...i am so selling. although i don't have the original box...or manual...crap.

i thought the backwards compatibility only worked for some games or something.

anyway, i honestly don't know anymore. that's why i bought up ps1 rpgs at gamestop before they got rid of all of their ps1 games. now i just download them all for the psp.

i just googled it and i guess it no longer exists because it was a branch of gamestop?
i'll ask my friend about game crazy since he used to work there

thanks! I would drive to the closes GameCrazy, but it's a 15 minute drive and I don't want to end up not finding any. Not to mention I don't work right now and I'm a poor college student lol. I've heard of Funcoland, but dunno what happened to it. Wouldn't be surprised if GameStop did buy them since they merged w/ EB Games.

You can play Final Fantasy 7, buy purchasing at the Playstation store through Playstation 3 for $9.99
I heard they are also making Final Fantasy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 on Playstation 3 too. My boyfriend and his

PS3 20 and 60 gig had full backwards compatibility for PS2 games. The 80 and 160 only had software emulation. The 40 and the slims don't have it. I did read online that they were going to add Dreamcast and PS2 games to the PSN market.

Only game I really want to play is Yakuza 2.

Anyways, just buy your PS1 games through PSN. They only have the best selling games though.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna buy it through PSN if I don't find it in stores.

@ Atmosphere.

thanks for link, but I already know about online sites since I put it in my OP lol. I want to avoid online stores right now since I know I can find it for cheaper, sometimes even new copies.

@ _ShiKAndA_

Right now, mainly FF7 and FF9 since I sold the game (stupid idea) when I was in high school for extra money when I couldn't get a job since I was too young at the time.
