I have known about Sun for a while. She has actually been experimenting in the US on the run up to her debut English album for a while.

She has already had 5 singles charting on the US Hot Dance/Club Play chart (3 of the singles going to number 1). This is the same chart that BoA, Utada, and Koda Kumi have charted on.

She has also released a music video and itunes single with Wyclef Jean as well as having a collaboration with Olivia Newton John.


Now she has announced the name of her debut english album called "Cause A Ruckus" and released the music video and single for the first single called "Fancy Free".

Not a fan of her US songs, but as a fellow Singaporean, I wish her best of luck too. She's had some really good results n US so far The music video looks good, but the song is so-so to me.

Yeh, I really love the music video. I really wish BoA did something like this.


I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to the actual song. It's ok. It might grow on me. I really didn't expect "China Wine" to be anything like it was, but I ended up loving that. I still think I prefer her earlier dance orientated singles, but i'm a sucker for dance songs lol

You know, I've noticed that Asian artists that try to break into the American market HAVE good songs. But their videos suck.

That's pretty interesting. I remember seeing some news of her breaking through US a few years back but didn't really receive follow up news after that. She's quite a chart topper in the chinese music industry even though i totally don't understand why is she topping the charts since.. i never really know any of her songs and i don't think she's THAT popular... hmm.. so weird.

But i'm pleasantly surprised by this MV, very versatile and i think she have the chance to be successful in US since i think the people will love her fierce look and she speaks good english..

i like the video plus it is understandable i was on her website her songs for her upcoming album remind me of a mixture of gwen stefani album the first one i found it funny that joseph khan directed the video for her and the video is awesome i like the theme

she's got a strong-ish voice. i can see her being successful in the US charts

I got a news update today on Sun, and it was just saying that her music video for "Fancy Free" is now on Itunes.

I assumed it would just be on the US Itunes, but I checked on my iPhone and it is also appearing on the UK Itunes along with the single. "China Wine" and 3 other older singles packed with mixes are also now on Itunes UK too. Yay!
