So I actually met up with one of my penpals today, (we've been talking via email for about a year) and it was really interesting! I was wondering if any of you have a penpal, whether via email or snailmail, and if you do.. How long have you been talking to them, what country, gender etc. ~

I actually have a few, but I'm most consistent with this one girl from Korea and she's really cute! ^^

Oh and if you wanted to get a penpal, I found mine through this site:

students of the world

and a one from Korea, she's 2 months younger than me.

I love them both 8D I would love to meet with them some day. I've been talking to them for 2 years now!

Yep. I have one in Australia and another one in France. We even send each other postcards now and then. I used to have a penpal from China when I was 14 but we lost touch.

I used to have one, but now I've lost touch. It's pretty fun though. It's different than getting an email or text, because you can see the handwriting of one another which makes it more personal.

This brings back really old memories, when I was in elementary I use to write this this guy from China (same age as me). Our teachers got us all Penpals, than somewhere I stopped writing and he sent at least 15 letters before he stopped writing. I feel kind of bad now, I wouldn't mind having a Penpal =)

Ooh, the idea sounds fun!
I remember I used to have a penpal in elementary
school before science camp.

From the letters, it seemed like we had lots in common,
but when I met her at the camp, we couldn't talk about anything.

Aww that's great. How'd you find each other?

I found my pen pals through this site: http://www.penpalparty.com/ The site is pretty cool because you can search by country, language, age, and gender.

I have a pen pal (I guess o.O) She was a transfer student from Japan and when she went back to Japan, we kept in touch. <- That does count as a pen pal right? xD I want a another pen pal since the pen pal I have now is in university and she's too busy with school T_T

edit: I'm a total noob at this o.o So all I do is respond to their ad or something? xD

I had a penpal from France when I was in a French class back in high school. It was pretty cool, but we stopped contacting each other about half year later.

Yeah, I had one when I was in 7th grade.
It was in my math class when we got penpals.
~Haha, don't ask why in "math" because I didn't know either XD
But anyways, yeah I had one but my teacher wanted to stop
doing it after we recieved our first mail from them...
I think it's because they started getting too personal already,
like you knowing wanting pics of what we look like, haha ;P

Did you go on the 'students of the world' site? If you did, you just put up your own ad, they'll send you a message which will be sent to whatever email you provided ~

lol i 'had' one, not by choice . my teacher forced my class to correspond with some kids in hawaii .

i stopped replying her after the second email or so because it was just awkward and honestly, she was really too kiddish and lame . 'AHHH I'M A FLYER TOO! IT'S SOOOOO COOOLLLLL!'

i had nothing to say lol .

I have a penpal from Korea.
She's two years older than me and she's really nice.
We've been contacting each other for two years -or a bit more- via snail mail.
We send each other pictures, clothes, CDs, etc.
(:
