Hi!
I'm in my last high school year so for the next year I have to decide on what I want to be...occupation.
I'm struggling between to either choose teacher or nurse career. I like to be with people and feel that I can help them. I'm kind, very patient and like to meet new people. I know that being a teacher they have to correct alot of tests, make preparations etc.

Anyone here who have any idea of which one I should choose? Or which one would you have chosed if you was me? unsure.gif

If you're good at science and anatomy, I'd go for nursing...Nurses are in high demand all the time, you're probably get a job more easily and get paid more. I'm a nurse major now but I'm going to switch because I SUUUUCK at science and intense memorizing, I'd rather leave nursing to people who are actually good at it.

If you choose nursing, you'll have more responsibility (as a health provider versus an educator).

being a nurse is a higher paying and in demand job, but you will have to take harder classes and you will have a more stressful career.

being a teacher is still in demand (i think-but not as much) and i think the job might be less stressful....

I guess it depends on ur interests...if you love to teach or like communications or finding new ways to teach, then be a teacher.

If you are more into science, than being a nurse might be better

You could possibly be a school nurse, or teach allied health/nursing classes.

I believe there is a higher demand for nurses.

A lot of my friends found nursing jobs right after graduation, whereas those who were education majors are still searching.
I, myself, am an elementary education major. I just hope the demand for teachers will improve by the time I graduate.

this is just my personal take on it, but i would choose to be a nurse.
if you are interested in science, then it will be a good job for you.
plus, nurses make good money and they are always in demand.

I was on a pre-med track but after taking all those science classes and not having a social life, I decided that it wasn't worth wasting my time/money on. I decided that I am going to study design.
I suggest you take some science classes, volunteer at a hospital, as well as some education classes, and then determine which one you like better. What matters most is that you are happy with your decision! (:

if you have an interest in science and health, then i'd go with nursing
nursing is in high demand because of the aging population in developed countries and they make good money

teaching has it's good and bad, teachers don't get enough recognition and don't get paid as much..but it's a rewarding job too..
