If he was looking at you, and if he said ANYTHING to talk to u, i think its sort of a first move. Did you say anything after he talked to u? More details! Chemistry between two people usually happen when one person initiates the convo, then it just gets carried onto where ever xD.

Yes, them talking to you is considered doing the first move. After that, things get started and stirred.

really i wouldn't consider that a first move
i talk to ppl randomly all the time and im not making a move on them
a move would be like asking them to go to dinner or something etc etc

^ I agree. When people are looking for signs, they tend to overinterpret every move the person makes. Just talking doesn't mean he's making the first move.

Maybe if he keeps on making conversations that could be making the "first move". See if he keeps on looking at you next time.
Maybe the guy just thought you didn't hear...eh..not every time a guy talks to you = being interested, you know. Sorry, something like this happened to me yesterday and everyone said he is interested, but i think he just wants to be friends. lol. (i'm a girl btw).

Pretty much. A conversation is not a move in any one direction unless it explicitly involves the prospect of a romantic overture.
