At school.
I was in the washroom washing my hands.
The washroom only had one big stall for handicapped people.
A girl came in and saw that the washroom was preoccupied by my friend and I (my friend was fixing her hair), so she smiled at me and backed out of the door (or so I thought). Me being the complete near-sighted-to-the-point-of-blindness-but-still-refuse-to-wear-glasses person that I am, asked my friend, in a really loud voice "was that a boy?" because the girl had really, really short hair and I couldn't see her face properly, to which my friend replied "no, that was a girl. She just had short hair". And once again, me, being the complete near-sighted-to-the-point-of-blindness-but-still-refuse-to-wear-glasses person that I am, absolutely did not realize that the girl was behind me the whole time when I asked my friend whether she was a girl. Right after our little conversation the girl left the washroom in a hurry.
I felt so bad after wards. I sincerely hope I did not hurt her feelings, though by the looks her fleeting from the washroom, I did.
I absolutely had no intention of hurting her. I only asked of her gender because of my sight problems, not because she actually looked like a guy, but obviously she doesn't know that.
Can we say lesson learned? I'd give anything to be wearing glasses that day lol.
Anything you want to apologize for?
