I'm planning on having an indie film night. Any suggestions on what I should watch?

Thanks. =]

-My Own Private Idaho (1991) <~ This one I recommend the most.
-Ghost World (2000)
-Ginger Snaps (2000)
-Manic (2001)
-Broken Flowers (2005)
-May (2002)
-Requiem for a Dream (2000)
-Sideways (2004)
-Bubba Ho-tep (2002)
-Elephant (2003)
-Bully (2001)

Um, a few of those films aren't for the weak of heart, but those are off the top of my head, and I love them all. smile.gif

And Mystic River sucks. Oh man, it sucks so bad. I love Tim Robbins but what the hell.

Everyone's named all of Wes Andersons films (Bottle Rocket, the Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore) except for The Life Aquatic so.. i'll recommend that one too lol.

Although I don't know if it's independent. Versus, you would know, I wouldn't.

Umm, it's released by the same distribution company as Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums so I guess technically it would be considered "independent", as a lot of it has to do with the company. But it had a wider release, bigger budget, and grossed more domestically than any of Wes Anderson's other films, I think, so I guess of all of them it would be the "least" independent.

...or something.

Mystic River was pretty good man.

I don't know what hash pipe you were smoking while watching that film, but it was pretty good.

I really do wish I had some reefer while watching it, man. Then maybe it would've made it more interesting.

Out of that list, I enjoyed:

The Usual Suspects
Se7en
Silence of the Lambs
Kill Bill I
Sideways
Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels
Henry V
Lost in Translation

I heard Fargo and Memento were very good too, but I haven't had the chance to watch them.

*The Professional (1994)*- Jean Reno and Natalie Portman
American History X (1998)- Edward Norton and Edward Furlong
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)- Guy Richie flick

...twitterpated.

Me and You and Everyone We Know
Donnie Darko
Pulp Fiction (dark humour and violence)

Me and You and Everyone We Know will have this "wtf" effect on you because it' so strange but hilarious. I've heard Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a very good movie.

I heart you a lot for that recommendation of Mysterious Skin. Awesome movie. Even better book.

L.I.E is a great movie.

Igby Goes Down
Dr. Strangelove by Stanley Kubrick is awesome.
