-Ginger Snaps (2000)
-Manic (2001)
-Broken Flowers (2005)
-May (2002)
-Requiem for a Dream (2000)
-Sideways (2004)
-Bubba Ho-tep (2002)
-Elephant (2003)
-Bully (2001)
Um, a few of those films aren't for the weak of heart, but those are off the top of my head, and I love them all.

ive heard that mystic river is pretty good but haven't acutally seen it myself

And Mystic River sucks. Oh man, it sucks so bad. I love Tim Robbins but what the hell.
Everyone's named all of Wes Andersons films (Bottle Rocket, the Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore) except for The Life Aquatic so.. i'll recommend that one too lol.
Although I don't know if it's independent. Versus, you would know, I wouldn't.
and nothing to doubt.

Umm, it's released by the same distribution company as Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums so I guess technically it would be considered "independent", as a lot of it has to do with the company. But it had a wider release, bigger budget, and grossed more domestically than any of Wes Anderson's other films, I think, so I guess of all of them it would be the "least" independent.
...or something.

I heard Fargo and Memento were very good too, but I haven't had the chance to watch them.

Pulp Fiction (dark humour and violence)
Me and You and Everyone We Know will have this "wtf" effect on you because it' so strange but hilarious. I've heard Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a very good movie.
