hey, i've never been in this "cars" place, but i've been driving for about 5 months
and my parents gave me their old car (BMW, it's still nice)
but this morning, my car slid, and there is a huge white scratch (it's not a thin one)
it's like a thick, white scratch that is pretty big. there are also dents and little parts
where the metal is showing. also, there are parts where like the plastic part of the car
(kinda like a bumper) is like off its regular spot.
i don't know how to explain it, unless i show pictures.
should i just tell my parents or go to my friend who works at an auto-body shop?
to fix this.. (i don't even know if it's fixable) i would have to pay a LOTT of money.
i don't know what to do... advice anyone?

Well, if your parents gave you the car, why does it matter if you scratched it lol.
And from the sounds of it, you've made contact through the paint and possibly damaged/dented the panels. In my opinion it's going to be expensive. Just bring it to the body shop for a free quote.

^+1 get a free quote. Where was the scratch? front/rear bumper can be replaced with a painted oem one.
Also if metal doesnt show, chances are you can buff it out.

If you bring it to an autobody, your friend might or might not charge you for labor. They might also charge you more cause in order to fix your scratch, they will need to paint it, and they gotta find paint that matches or find the OEM paint which will cost them. How exactly did you get the scratch? Because my friends car got hit recently when it was parked and she wasn't around, and insurance covered it. So maybe your insurance will cover the costs.
sadly, some people will never change no matter what you do.

The car slid? Bumper out of place?
"Your parents gave it to you so it's ok?"
HAHAHA wow how old are you guys...
Get it checked out and quoted. Come back. Done

If it's just dents and scratches you might be able to get it fixed w/o getting a new bumper. But if you're getting a new front bumper, it'll cost around $600.
