Well for people near in the GTA(Toronto). Ever heard of the YMCA. Not the song, where you sing and make the letter signs.
It is like a gym facility and as well as work out area. So if you enjoy sports you will enjoy it the have a variety of sports, ofcourse according to the schedule. And their equipment is well maintain for those who like to work out.
Their regular membership is $40 per month. Expensive? well their is a loop hole. You can apply for financial assistance. They calculate your income per month and subtract your expenses. My came up to $30 a month. Cool eh...
go search on their website. Just search it in google and find the closest location to you.
btw I think they also run internationally, but you would have to search yourself

o yeah the most awesome thing the local ymca did was.... fresh towels
for like 10 bux you can "buy" a towel from them, they wash and clean towels there. you hand them a token, they give you a towel, at the end of your workout, you hand it back and give your token back. i know some ppl have problems with using towels that other ppl have used, but i think it's much easier than bringing one from home all the time

there's a ridiculously cheap gym in burke, va.
10 dollars a month, but it's really crummy.
a lot of people like the crumminess feeling of gyms though, so idk haha

I guess that's a decent price if your just going to go for a few months xD. and ppl dont' have to try to find a YMCA, they just need to find a community center ^__~
I know the gym I go to the starting the fee can kill some ppl >_>
I think it's 120 dollars, but it's 9 bucks a month. It's benefits those who will go for a long time. (I've been going for 5 years so it's way cheaper for me)

$9 a month here is unheard of. I pay roughly $50 a month for my gym. It is a fully equipped gym though
and I go at least 6 times a week so i'm getting my money's worth. I am from the GTA area also.
I have heard of the Y going as low as $10, one of my friend's got that price a long time ago. I donno, I've only
ever looked into big equipped gyms. That's just me though.

Try U of T's gym, fully equipped, 3 campuses, a bit pricey though. $60 I think, not too sure, it's included in tuition so I just use it.

Thanks pinkjelly88 for my avatar :D

Ryerson University in Toronto gym membership is $70 for 2 semester and $35 for one semester but only if your aea student.
If you're not a student then it would be about $400 a yr.....not exactly sure

I have this and it's the best deal ever! especially in San Diego; there's so many locations~! Just buy the membership certificate at Costco and bring it to the place. Processing took only a couple of minutes. There's no additional fees. There's also free classes u can attend. So convenient!

...If I was paying 40$ a month I would be at Gold's or something on par like Equinox Gyms or something as big ~ think athletes, models, actors etc ~
* better facilities, more wide array of equipment for training purposes, and other amenities ~ and you can filter some douche-bags and demoralizing people out
20-30$ is the most you should be paying a month for any gym... though the last time I checked a YMCA it was 15-20$ a month....
Get your moneys worth!
Good thing I don't have to worry about these monthly payments anymore ~ I get mine at 50-60$ a year

Man.. it sucks to be canadian ~ I know in the University of California Network and the California State network of schools ~ the gym is free to all students ( comes with the student fees which are mandatory ).
Though the numbers you noted are about same with sponsored NON-STUDENTS that want to use the same facilities.

I have a membership at the YMCA. It costs me $35/month because I'm still a teen. But when I turn 18 in December it's going to be $50+. They say there is financial assistance but so MANY people apply that the wait takes forever. They said it might take over a month so I didn't do it. Plus if I did it, I needed someone who was over 18 to do it with me but no one else in my family wanted to go
