I have personally been measured at the doctor's office and I swear I'm 5'4". I'm 5'4.5 in the morning or on good days.

However, whenever I ask a girl her height and she says she's 5'4" or around, but is SHORTER than I am, I get very confused.

Then these girls always argue back saying how I'm lying or I'm just taller. -______-"

Why do people lie about their heights? It's nothing to be ashamed of. I can tell if I'm taller than a person or not 5 times out of 5.

Lol I feel you. I measured myself and I was 168cm which is a little over 5'6", but everyone tells me I seem taller than that. There are also girls who claim they're 168 or taller than that, but when I stand next to them they're obviously shorter. I suspect that since so many people tack on a few more cm to their height when asked, others will look at my height and think I must be at least 5'7".

I do find it annoying when people lie about their heights though. I'm standing right next to you and we're facing our reflection in a window, how stupid do you think people are? Haha

I would go into telling you how most short people and indeed most people in the modern world have some form of inferiority complex which results in either overaggressive behaviour in compensation for their height or they adopt (what seems to be the new trend) a passive aggressive nature about their height. Which leads them to tacking on a few inches to satisfy their own ego but when challenged they either show their passive aggression by making the accuser look like a liar or swear that they are indeed wrong and that they (the person) know better.

But I doubt that's what anybody is interested in or would think that they know better than published human behaviourists.

So I'll just use humor to point it out anyway.

Refer to lying about your age thread. Telling lies about your height is just as fine as telling lies about your height! Everyone is sure to like you and you won't feel so bad about being shorter than that big fat promiscuous who you befriended to make yourself feel better.

Now, lying about your sex, there is a true betrayal of trust and somebodies intelligence! In closing, telling lies is what makes people popular so why wouldn't you lie about height!

I'm 5'4" and am totally fine with that o__o I wouldn't wanna be shorter or taller, really.

I used to add half an inch to an inch to my height back when I was in middle school, but that was back when I was still hopeful that I'd keep growing a bit taller and felt a bit insecure and dissatisfied with my height. Oh well, 5'4" it is, and probably not even closer to 5'4.5". It's not that bad or extremely short of a height for a woman to be, really, and it's not like I can really change it now (I actually kind of like it most of the time), so why lie? It's pointless. It's not like people will actually see you as significantly taller just because you say that you are; their perception of your height will matter more than what you say your height is.

Doctor told me I'm 5'4''. But my young friends who are shorter than me, REALLY shorter than me tells me their height is 5'6'', and I'm just like so made me wonder, am I really 5'4''? -__-;; Made me think are they lying or the doctor is lying or the measurement is lying to me I tell them I'm 5'4'' and they thought I was lying -___-;;;;;;

I remember someone lied to me about his height being 183 or something...
it was pretty obvious cos i'm only 180cm and i was taller than him o_O
Although ppl lying about their height, doesn't bother me that much

i use to know someone who would lie about their height. Said they were 5'10" when in reality they were 5'7½"-5'8".. they were a 1up-per, but no matter what they were the tallest in the group. lol thought it would impress people.

uwahh that happened to me too except with my mom o__O !
she said she's 5'0 so when i grew taller than her a few years ago i thought i was taller than 5'0!
but i checked and it turns out i was 5'0 =___= !
i guess i've grown and inch or two since then :P

but man my friend's like 24604690682403498234 feet tall,

I think it's because of posture... and height... Mm. Sometimes I see tall girls haunch... over a bit. I'm tall, I guess, and my posture's no good.

I am 5'9 according my mom, I believe I'm 5'10.

Usually when ladies ask for height I can say 5'9-11 cause they want to be impressed lol

i guess i'm just weird because i seem to be one of the only people i know that actually like being short. i don't want to be tall. i don't know, ever since i was little i knew i didn't want to grow up to be tall.

when i get measured at school or at the doctor's office, i think i'm usually around 5'2??

but i usually tell people that i'm 5'1.5-5'2 because when getting measured there, i still have my shoes on! i've measured myself a lot at my house alone and i'm always around 5'1.5. so, unless i've messed it up every time then i don't think i'm lying.

lol, i'm totally opposite from those people. there have even be occasional times that people doubted i was that short.

wait, i think that was because if i was that short, it would mean they were around that short too and they didn't want to believe that. =PP
