Hii.

I'm a prospective transfer from OCC, hoping to transfer into UCI for an anthropology major. I'm just wondering what other people who are in this major think of the anthropology program at the school. I've heard various things about it, that it was a good program or that it was a bad program. I'm hoping that at least somebody on this forum can help me figure out if this major is for me. Is there more emphasis on cultural anthropology? Or is it really just on the science and mathematics of anthropology? I heard that I need to take a year of statistics? And I need to take computer science? Is that true? I think I'm just plain confused. Please just tell me the pros and cons of this major or just your opinion.

i don't know about anthropology major at UCI, but i figure since it's under social science, you do need to take a year of statistic..However, there is another route you could take, that is you could take Calculus 1 and 2 and take MATH 7 ( basic statistic)...for computer, i tihnk you just need to take Soc Science 3A, which is the basic computer class.
