I'm desperate to lose weight...I want to lose about 5 kg for now....I used to be 1m60 and 54kg so it was much easier for me to lose weight back then....and now I am around 48~49kg....things become so hard
Please don't tell me I'm fit already since I know I look chubbier than how much I weigh...and I have fat in my face, belly, arm and thigh...
I have been trying to eat less, exercise and do many stuff but it just doesn't make any difference. So I think there might be some problem in my diet style. I even thought of trying the master cleanse thing with lemonade but I know it's not healthy and not permanent so I think I better stick with normal diet way.
For morning, I usually have breakfast around 8:30. I have wheat bread with an egg and ham together with a glass of orange juice. Sometimes if I still feel hungry, I will have a bowl of kellogg cornflakes cereal with fat free skim meal. Or some days when I wake up late for class, I just have a bowl of cereal. I know these are all processed food but what else can you eat for breakfast?
For luch around 12:30, I have a small bowl of rice with either pork or chicken or egg and a bowl of vegetable soup. I am not a vegetable person so there are just few types of vegetables that I like such as: broccoli, cabbage, tomato, potato, bok choy baby, spinach. Also, I am a commuter and cook food on my own so I just have simple meal with whatever I know how to cook.
And sometimes for snack if I feel like, it would be fat free yogurt with strawberry and granola (just the home-made style of yogurt parfait)
And for dinner, I have a bowl of grapes or an apple with a glass of orange juice.
I try to keep this way of eating during the weekday. However, for weekend, it's just too hard to follow this since friends invite for dinner out and I ate like bunch. And after that, I feel so bad for eating a lot.
I also think of doing exercise like jogging 30 mins in the treadmill for 3 times a week. Other day, I might try to do hula hoop.
Can anybody give any advice? Thanks a bunch in advance!!!!!!

eating only vegetables and fruits is a complete fail. in most cases...
Check your whole wheat that's actually wheat bread xD (lots of breads made with enrichered white/ wheat flour.. which isn't that good, it also shouldn't have sugar/high fructose corn syrup as the 2nd or 3 rd ingredient on the food label)
~~~~~ it seems like yoru not doing the eating 5-6 time s day. but studies show that eating a bigger breakfast (but lunch and dinner with less, but not near nothing... ) is better than having a large dinner last. (you're active during the day, but not when your going to bed...)
there's also oatmeal , eat whole grain stuff aka wheat, rye, bran, and others
incorporate some fruits and vegetables into what you make, like with pasta add some mushrooms, broccoli to alfredo. even tiny bits of it and you'll get use to. Try to make the vegetables more than the actually pasta (plus it'll fill you up more)
Eat LOT of Fiber (whole wheat=fiber ^__^) O if you eat rice try to have more brown rice even though it's evil to cook cause it takes too long to cook o_O... You can replace white bread with wheat bread smile just gotta get use to it. Use whole grain pasta too.. (REMEMBER PORTIONS, eat one serving of rice (or according to what your body needs,)don't go all over board just because it's brown rice.
baked beans have both fiber and protein very helpful, and you can easily get it from a can, but look at food labels, the amount of sodium is different from brand to brand biggrin.gif
If you don't get meat you can easily get your complete protein from beans and rice together. :DDDD
Look for items that don't have too much added sugar to it. I mean peanut butter can be healthy if all that sugar wasn't in it (there are brands that don't add as much high frutose syrup and sugar, the big name brands all have too much added "crap" in it, I 've found that smaller brand names have less, but in some cases it's not...) PS use SPARINGLY
Eggs are good just don't cook it with too much oil.(i mean if you eat with yolk maybe prolly1 serving 2) and if you really care about the fat in them, then you can go to the store and can easily but the egg whites.
Drink juice if you don't like/get sick of eating fruits. V8 has servings of fruit AND vegetables in it. O When looking for juice you have to look for those that don't use high fructose syrup and or use so much sugar. (fruits are already sweet as it is if not tampered with, like it being from concentrate... that's a big no no....)
If anything has "Partially hydrogenated/hydrogenated" on the labeling, throw it out asap.(AKA trans fat...)
Walk whenever you can. Try to walk as much as you can in a day, don't go like Oh i did 6 thousand steps.. i'm done for the day!
Drink lots of water ^__^ you can easily lose water weight that has been around biggrin.gif
Diversify your food biggrin.gif eat lots of different green or colorful vegetables ^__^ most healthy is raw, but if you don't like it that way you can steam it and add a little bit of salt and pepper
If you eat out save half of the meal for a later time ^__^'
We're coming from the underground, we're not mainstream.
We do what we wanna do.
If that's only possible in the underground then we'd like the underground to be our home. It's good like that." -Kaoru
this is completely misleading and unhealthy. You're telling her/him (sorry not sure xD) that she can't eat anything because it's all got fat and protein.
protein is GOOD.
your usual breakfast seems healthy enough but a little too much. Try milk instead of orange juice because most juices have loads of sugar. Try to cut the kellogs cereal part because it takes about 20min or so for your body to "feel" full so you might actually be full but still feel hungry and end up eating more.
O_O your dinner is surprising. So little food...don't you get hungry from eating just grapes and apples? (again try to replace the orange juice)
basically drink lots of water and you can get your ideal amount of water (oz) intake by multiplying your body weight by .6 and try to balance your meals. I heard having 5-6 meals is a lot better but i haven't tried since i can't just pull out a meal in the middle of class xD
misconception - protein does not = size and growth
Take a nutrition course in college.
Some factors are:
* amount of calories eaten a day - quality of nutrition - along with work output (physical activity)
* to a certain extent a person could simplify it to -------- Calorie Intake vs Calorie Usage
- as long as they didn't cling to this blanket statement
-- respected how carbohydrates, fiber, protein each incur a certain metabolic debt
( energy required to burn ).
-- how different foods can and will take more or less time to digest
-- bad fats vs healthy fats in the body and how the body interacts and processes this
-- Calorie differential in foods
For example :
(1) 4oz Chicken Breast has 120 calories, 10g fat
(1) Big Mac without cheese 576 calories 292 fat
(1) Big Mac withCHEESE 704 calories 393 fat
(1) Whey Isolate 1 serving shake 105-130 calories 5-15g fat
(1) GAINER Protein anywere between 500-800 calories etc + carbohydrates
***big difference in calories between these 2 types :: there are other types of
protein as well***
** blanket statements saying PROTEIN = THIS and does THIS^2 ... will only demonstrate epic
lack of knowledge and education! Don't just run with simple statements for kids - learn!
understand! grasp it! digest it! master it!
There is protein in all these items. But a serious calorie differential first of all among other things.
ALso I'm adding to what Kinein saida bout protein. Protein is very much needed. (the body doesn't need much to run, plus in like everything... okay not every but many things
Some vegetables even have protein.
~~~~ A little off topic, but in nutrition we watched a video where They had volunteers to participate in a starvation study. Well the summary is. First half a year or given time they limited the intake of food, down to starvation mode (just getting enough food to survive) half way they took out meat/protein from their diet. Their bodies didn't lose weight because their bodies were holding in all the excesses water/bloated, this is called Edema) so the next day they gave them some chicken, and soon they were going to the bathroom and the water weight left their bodies, it turns out that protein plays a big role when it comes body function.

protein doesn't make you bigger perse. if you want to say that, then carbs makes you bigger. fat makes you bigger. water makes you weigh more. so if you wanna lose weight, don't eat or drink anything.
doesn't make a lot of sense now does it?
protein is GOOD for you. so are carbs. so are fats. it's all about moderation. between beef and chicken, the healthier option is chicken because beef contains a lot of "extra" fat. protein is required to build muscles. muscles do make you weigh more, but guess what? muscles also burn more calories, just by existing... so you burn more fat. dun really wanna say much more than this.
@traitaoxanh
you're skinny. i don't get why you wanna lose more weight, at 160 cm and 48kg, that's plenty skinny. i think your just looking at too many fashion magazines. know what the model's secret is? unhealthy eating habits. they eat way too little for it to be a healthy meal. and that's how they're so skinny.
to lose weight, count your own calories. i mean if you can state it out here exactly what and how much you eat, then you can count your calories and see if your eating too much or too little. too much would be over the amount of calories you spent that day. too little would be anything under 1200. stay in that range and you'll lose weight, it's pretty inevitable.

For Lunch, you have to cut out on rice just now. And the pork and meat. Just have the vegetable soup with wholemeal bread and butter. You should eat less at lunch. You can also try sandwiches here as well.
For Dinner you should eat the vegetables instead and if you want to snack, snack on the fruits or raisins and a low fat yoghurt is a good idea for dessert.
Also you have to do exercise as well. like gym 3 times a week for an hour
Good luck

Okay pleasee don't listen to that plan. You diet like that and you end up at the hospital. You NEED carbs to help your body actually move so DO eat bread or potatoes. Just not white bread cause it has more calories and its pretty unhealthy. Too much carbs cause weight gain(of course) though so you have to control that..
Ham isn't a good food for dieting.. If you want eggs boil them instead. and if you like tofu, eat a lot of it cause it's extremely good for dieting. Not in like a fatty dish though. If you want a healthy breakfast that lasts the day (or at least until lunch) heat up the tofu in the microwave so it's warm (the softer kind) and put spicy soy cause on top.. and I'm pretty sure laying off the cereal is a good idea.
I dont know what type of rice you eat, but try getting bori instead of white. The purple-ish rice is muuch better.
and like what others said cut off the orange juice. Half to maybe one cup (like in the measurement way, not those big mugs..) or drink milk like others said. and try to drink a lot of water during the day, but not right after/before you eat cause water gets in the way of digestion.
instead of jogging try speed/power walking while swinging your arms. Make sure to massage your legs afterwards so you don't get muscular legs ;D
Sorry I don't know if that'll help too much cause people above said a lot xD
Good luck on your diet! Don't go overboard though..

If the body does not get necessary nutrients then the body system gets voids for germs to attack.
Take regular diet but burn more calories to lose weight.
