but if i need to elaborate...

if you were already in a relationship and someone asked you out, would you share this with your girlfriend/boyfriend?

i was thinking about this because this actually happened to me yesterday. the guy who asked me was a co-worker and i thought it was incredibly sweet. unfortunately for him, my boyfriend was standing 6 ft. away from us, but he didn't hear. (note: we all work in the same place) i thought it was a funny story and i wanted to share what happened with him, but i changed my mind.

my boyfriend is the "quiet type" and i thought if i told him, he might take it the wrong way or feel bothered by it.

but how about you, guys?

That means your boyfriend could possibly find out what happened from someone else in the future, anyway, which would be worse than you telling it to him as a funny story now. He would then be likely to question why you hid it from him if it was really just a funny little story with nothing suspicious about it. Maybe it would ideally be left completely unsaid unless your boyfriend asked and nothing would come of it at all, but the last thing you want is for it to somehow reach your boyfriend's ears well after the fact and in a version that might not represent what you think really happened.

I definitely would. I'd want him to tell me if some girl asked him out. Besides, I wouldn't want to take the chance of him finding out somehow, and then wondering why I kept it a secret from him. . .it just looks sort of strange and suspicious.

I'd tell him if he found out or saw the guy actually asking me out, but I'd tell him not to make a big deal out of it or smack the guy.

it's an almost definite YES. but he asked you for what? the answer to that question would definitely shape your answer to the guy. SO be careful how you will tell this to your S/O, as he may interpret things differently.

I'd tell him. i don't wanna hide anything. besides, its not like i would say yes (unless it was someone who i really like?) if it was someone i really liked, i'd need to discuss it with him anyways

I don't think I'd tell my bf because I think he'd take it the wrong way. If he asked I'd tell him, but I would not go out of my way to tell him on my own.

I guess it depends. Are you in good terms with him? Like tell him everything like best friends do. If yeah, then tell. I'm the quiet one and I wish he tells me everything like before... He doesn't so, things feels pretty distant between us.
