Primered Hondas, beginner/advanced badges, tow hooks, bike racks, knock off rims. We've seen it all.The majority of the people who has these are Honda owners. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Hondas and I've even had one before it had gotten stolen. But the situation has seem to had gone down even more in this trend we are presently seeing. However, it doesn't bother my friends and I much. We are car enthusiasts and love all makes and models and we've adopted the term, "To each his own." All seems swell and all, right? Wrong.

About two hours ago we were invited to a "car meet" which consisted of a bunch of Hondas and a couple of Nisans. My buddy and I were the only Subaru owners there (he has an 07 STi, I have a swapped 2.5rs) and we sort of stuck out from the crowd of Hondas. The majority of Hondas that were there were exactly what I mentioned in the first sentence of this post. Realizing how an uneventful night this was, my buddy and I decided to call it a night and leave. My friend pulled out and minutes later I did the same. As I was pulling out of the garage, a loud screech was heard, someone was obviously peeling out but it sounded like it was more than one car. Knowing this, I didn't think much of it and just took off.

I quickly caught up to my friend due to him being behind a red light and we both took off normally going the speed limit. As soon as we made a turn to go onto the on ramp of the freeway, I noticed a car from behind us hauling ass. He pulled up next to my friend and started revving the hell out of his engine. I realized that it was an older DA Integra that was also at that meet. Behind him were literally 7 Hondas. SEVEN FRICKIN' HONDAS! As we pulled onto the on ramp, the POS DA Integra was blipping his throttle and signaling my friend to race. My buddy declines because he's a pansy and doesn't wanna get his car towed, which is a pretty legit excuse IMO. So the DA then floors it and behind him was one of his buddies in an EG hatchback which also looked like crap. Behind that EG hatchback was a platoon of beat up lookin' Hondas.

One of the hatchbacks then had the bright idea of tailgating me. Realizing that I had a JDM rear bumper and I DO NOT have a crashbeam, I was pretty nervous about him being super close. So I did what I thought was best and just floor it and got the hell out of there. I did a 3rd-5th gear pull and I was literally gone. I could not even see their headlights anymore. Thinking that I got myself out of an awkward situation, I made my way home. As I got home, my friend called me. With a very angry voice, he was telling me that the Hondas were following him and were messing with him.

Apparently, after I had taken off, they wanted to race him and one guy even tailgated him. He did what I did and just floored it and got out of there. He started driving normal again as soon as he lost them in his rear view. However, he noticed a bunch of cars creeping up behind him and as soon as they caught up they ended up pulling next to him (he was in the middle lane) and proceeded to taunt him. One guy on his left was blipping his throttle signaling him to race (same thing the DA Integra did), and the other guy was just looking at him giving him the thumbs down. My friend paid no attention to this and continued to drive in a normal manner. Just then, one of them got in front of him and brake checked him, almost causing him to rear end the mofo. Then another Honda pulled up next to him and pretty much boxed him in like the truck in the fast and the furious.

As they continue to drive on the freeway (they've been driving close to 10 miles now), my friend was approaching the necessary exit which leads to his house, he got off and they followed still (he lives on the outskirts of town, in the mountain twisties). Continuing to be boxed in like the truck on the fast and the furious, he was trying to think of a way to get out of this particular situation. Then, he realized that the roads ahead had nothing but turns which would put him in an advantage due to him having full coilovers, swaybars, etc etc. So when an opportunity arised, he managed to get out of the little box they trapped him in and left them behind with every turn he took. Fortunately he was able to make it home safely and he's currently talking to me online complaining about the whole ordeal.

cliffnotes:

Friend and I attended a local car meet and then left shortly after
Group of Hondas followed us
A Honda tail gated me, which resulted me to floor it and leave them all behind
Group of Hondas provoked my friend & brake checked him
Same group followed him 10 miles on the freeway
Friend pulled off the freeway and took the twisties home
Technology of AWD literally PWNED FWD throughout the turns

You should revise one part of your cliff notes: "Group of Hondas followed us, acting like a bunch of douchebags"

No doubt, I hate when those kinds of assclowns pull crap like that.

So the ricers felt inferior and used mob intimidation to compensate for it. It's hard not to give in to their provocations esp. if your car is superior but personally instead of losing my cool and gunning it I'd pull over somewhere and talk to them. That's if they're man enough to come out and talk. Not seeing your buddy or the ricers for a reasonable amount of time after you left them, I would have immediately called your friend to check up and turn back if necessary.

Did either of you do anything at the meet that would provoke them? Like were you the only two not talking to anybody else? That's all I can think of that would provoke them and even then it wouldn't justify the ricers' behavior.

Anyway what's done is done. It's good you two made it back home ok.

Wow that's really lame. Who do they think they are? Totally out of line, disregard for responsibility and human life.
Glad you showed them up and left them in the dust, I wouldn't wanna hang near those guys at all.

That's RETARDED. Even the ricers up here don't EVEN DARE to do that or face getting ripped by the police. That and there are more legit Honda owners who aren't douchebags than there are FnF wannabes.

Kids need to grow the hell up, or I'd come down there and use my boat of a car to rip them a new ass if I cared that much. And I'm 17.

Glad to hear that you didn't get hurt and giving the punks a demonstration.
The time it takes for me to look at you is the time it takes for me to realize it's too late.

We didn't do anything at all. The only thing that I can think of is that there's rumors around town about us being stuck up, that's about it.

I was told from another person that this particular group is the biggest ricers in town.

Ugh, I don't like ricers either. I've only been challenged to race once, but sometimes ricers are just weird like that. Because, y'know, a 3L V6 stock Audi A4 is something that can seriously race...

It is pretty epic. It would've been even more epic if I said gundams were chasing him around the twisties and stuff.

I feel you on this Chan. I've encountered lots of ricers but there's only one that really takes the cake for me.

I was going home one night. I was just about to hit my street when an old 90s 626 pulled out and followed me. Since I was already turning onto my street, I kept going but I don't like people following me home (paranoia of a Honda owner) so I took a right away from my house. He followed, I took another right, he still followed. Being extra paranoid, I took another right out of the neighborhood and back onto the road I was on and continued driving until they stopped following. At the first following light, we met and I literally "LOL"ed the hardest in my life. These kids were listening to "Night of Fire", windows down, full blast. I laughed as they powered off the light.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. I personally like Hondas. If I hadn't gotten my car then I would've gotten another Integra or something. The majority of the cats there at the meet were pretty cool and outgoing. It's just the few retards who were there ruined it for everyone.
