hn , i remember me and my friend saw these two girls holding hands. my friend instantly pointed out to me how they were obvious lesbians and began telling me how if two people hold hands it only means their going out. it's not that it was impossible for them to be going out , but to jump to conclusions like that

to me personally , it just means that their is a special bond there [that , or you're crossing the street]
when your young , you hold your parents hands. then you find your bestfriend and hold hands with them. and then , of course your s/o. you wouldn't hold hands with a stranger right ? so obviously there has to be something special between you and them; trust , love , care. i don't personally like touching , but it doesn't mean i don't believe that even people who arn't dating can't hold hands.

For me, it used to means that the two people holding hands are together [if they're of the same age or similar]. Or they're friends if it's two girls, and family members if a young child and an older person is holding hand. However, it has changed lately because whenever I drink, i tend to get touchy and hold hands with guys I'm around. And it means absolutely nothing to me..
In a normal way, I do view people holding hands as usually in a relationship whether it'd be romantically or friends, or family. there's a strong feeling between the two

No. Affection is not applied to just boyfriend/girlfriend relationships - for when you want to show that you care or have a special bond with that is not nessisarily sexual or romantic.

When I see people holding hands, if they're acting romantic, sure, I may think they're a couple, with ones head resting on the others shoulder.
But I also put my head on my guyfriends shoulder and lap when I tired or watching a movie at my friends house and we have no sexual or romantic feelings for one another.
You'll never really know how it is unless...well...they start kissing or do something that clearly shows that they are a couple...ior they just tell you what "connection" they have.

I interlock with those I LIKE and just hold hands with friends. I don't really hold hands with them often though haha.
I think it shows that you want to be close with the person so you hold hands so you know they're not too far from you. If that made any sense... haha

for me holding hands means reassurance, you only hold hands with people you trust. The gaps between your fingers are for those whom you love and loves you to grip you when you're falling down, to give you confidence and to show you someones always there (you know the lil squeeze?)

So, i only let people i trust hold my hands, people i love, friends etc. i doesnt matter how "close" i am to them, if i dont trust them, they dont hold my hand... even family... blood ties doesnt mean i have to trust them; but loving them means trusting them.
