Are there social classes in your HS? (If so, is it really evident? Does it matter to you?)
There are many cliques in my school, Usually its all the white stoner kids who hang out together. Then there are the geeks, but they are separated into further sub-groups. After that there are Preps, Seniors, Punks, then there are the jocks but they're assorted by whatever sport they're in. Next is the people in band, and theater arts. Lastly it seems as though all the Asians hang out together, my school has an approximate ( and my that I mean totally a shot in the dark) 30% Asian demographic, and they all sort in to fobby, nonfobby, Filipino/Indo, and Chinese groups. It is truly evident, and it makes it hard for people to make friends with other groups.
Are you in a social class? If so where do u think u belong?
I am in a group of people, but its not a clique or social class. I have bright blue hair and dress in the strangest clothes but I have managed to find friends who accept that even if they are totally opposite of me. For example, in my group there are approximately 6-7 people, all of different races, all of different backgrounds, who at first glance look like they wouldn't be caught dead near each other, but we have managed to have great friendships with each other because of our differences.
Do you think being in a social class in HS will affect you in the future such as college or in the work force? Personally I think it does, You can choose your friends and if your friends happen to be stoners who like to get drunk and party every night then in my opinion that wont get you into college. Friends have a sneaky way of instilling their values into you, and having good friends with values like yours, help you make right choices in the future. As for the second part of the question I think having a diverse group of friends, and not just those in your clique, will help you relate to many different people while on the job. If you've gotten used to hanging out with just one group of people then it gets hard to relate to people who arent like your past friends.
And if you don't mind, what yr of HS are you in? Country? 9th Grade, Freshman. Usa
