And now, for the sake of a funner thread, I'm going to totally contradict myself and adddddd:
List all of the different ethnicities you are! Trace back as far as you can ahaha.
Both my parents are Vietnamese. My grandma on my mom's side is Laos (Laotian? IDK), and my grandma on my dad's side is Cambodian.
So as far as I know, I'm 50% Viet, 25% Laos, and 25% Cambodian.
follow me.

And in my face it looks like i'm all 4, but I always tell folks i'm Filipino, they're going to have to ask if they want to know why I don't look Filipino which people usually do then I tell them the rest of what's in my blood.
But I consider myself culturally Filipino~American because I was raised in that type of environment. I don't know a thing about Chinese, Spanish, or Japanese culture, so I usually answer "Filipino."

"I am 1/8th English, 1/12th Malaysian, 1/16th Singaporian,
1/37th Dutch and 1/53rd Italian (b/c my cousin married an Italian) lol
Let me make this clear, NO, I AM NOT WEST INDIAN!!!"
The dude is Indian and he's serious about those descriptions in his facebook... Saaaaad...
How does he get a few amount of "Italian" just because his cousin is married to an Italian?... Hmmm...
If so, I'm even more Italian than him since I eat a lot of Italian foods, I speak a little bit of Italian and my sis is married to an Italian...
Anyway I'm not gonna calculate like him but as far as I know I'm mixed Lao, Chinese and Japanese...

My name is NPB, I live in an igloo, I eat pancakes with maple syrup, I own a beaver, I don't like Justin Bieber, I ride a female moose to work and I'm Asian
. Eh. I'm a Poutine-Eater.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I'd love to know how he came up with those numbers! He somehow became 1/53th Italian because his cousin married one?! LOLLLL What a doofus...

I don't know how he came up with all that... You can only go with numbers like 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 and so on... It's like as if someone in his family split himself in 1/3 before giving birth...
Or he just doesn't know math anymore after 1/16...? But he's an university football player and at this point, he should know those numbers hahaha!
Maybe he counted his other cousin's marriage... but then the Irish part doesn't get 1/53 HAHA! Random lottery numbers he just picked there...
I'm sure if his mom had a blood transfusion from a korean guy who donated his blood before giving birth to him, he would add "I'm 1/3 korean (because my mom had blood transfusion from a korean guy before giving birth to me) lol".

Laos is actually the country and Lao is what we refer to the people. Just like Japan is the country and Japanese are the people.
I agree with your thread. It's kind of ridiculous to add the tiny %. Just say what the majority of you are. I think most people aren't going to be full blooded anyways. Who knows what happened in history?

i'm filipino, white, spanish, chinese, japanese, korean, and black! you know what was funny though? she added a new ethnicity to her list everyday. o_o so it was weird LOL! there was another girl, who listed on her profile that she was filipino, spanish, and chinese... and her sister commented her saying, "oh... i didn't know we were chinese. :B"
but for mee, i trace my origins back to the philippines. however, i am part caucasian thanks to my great grandfather. and on my mother's side of the family, we have roots leading back to spain b/c apparently my great grandmother on that side was the child of a spaniard and filipina. i think it's interesting to look back upon, but i consider myself american. i'm filipino by ethnicity (but i do state that i have white in me, since my last name is a scottish one) and american by nationality ~
