I am quite troubled whenever I walk downtown and see the homeless begging for food and being completely shunned by society. Though I'm not going to come up with some contrived ol' speech on the subject of homelessness. We all know it exists and it is what it is. Call me Sam but I am what I am and thus treat everyone the way I would want to be treated myself, the homeless included!
My room mate is gone. I laid the hammer down so to speak by giving her notice that she and I were not compatible 'roomies'.
She would always eat my strawberry flavored pocky or she'd always be on my 50" plasma tv when I wanted to watch my J-dramas. Not to mention her knack to be perpetually late on rent payments. She was simply uncompromising and declined when I asked her if she'd like to play badminton with me. I may be gentle, sweet, non confrontational but the last thing I am is a born sucka.
Now, there's this homeless guy who I've nicknamed Ned. I always walk past him when I'm going for groceries because he's camped out at the same spot, day in day out. This dude is super friendly as I've got the chance on many occasions to kick it with him. Usually I grab some Timmy Ho's donuts and coffee and bring him some as well. This guy is as harmless as a blindfolded Panda. I'm not so worried about my personal safety as I am versed in the art of Karate (I watch UFC too)
I would like to help him out considering winter is fast approaching and here in Canada our winters are madd fierce!
It might seem as if I'm bending over backwards to do something for someone that a person wouldn't normally do for a stranger but I'm not your typical human being. You see, I'm planning to get him all cleaned up so that I can hopefully find him a job where he'd be able to resurrect his life and be in good standing with God.
The one worry I have is my Mom. If she finds out I've taken in a homeless man she would likely drop dead, I kid you not.
But yeah, just wanna know if I should really go through with this. I really want to introduce him to things like bubble tea, church, badminton, Chinese culture and sushi. Life is short but I count my days because I know heaven's scent will be super duper amazing. Do good not evil ya'll and I promise you'll be better for it.
Cheers you guys.
