ok well, to start off i had this crush on a girl only a few months ago. It was senior year for high school, and my high school was pretty big so I actually didn't really know her that well until a year ago. We were in the same arts class and we usually were partners for when we had to do projects. We spoke here and there about our personal lives in class and i just kept falling for her more and more.

it got down to almost the end of the year and i figured i better make a move or i would run out of time. I figured i would want to ask her out so i thought if i wrote her a song and sang it for her maybe she would appreciate it and give a fart like me a chance with her. So i spent a few days writing a song and i recorded it on a cd. I decided i would bring in my portable Ipod deck and play the instrumental out loud and sing over it.

so it was a friday afternoon and i remember it like it was yesterday. my hands never sweat so much before and i never felt so nervous but i also felt a little excited, thinking... "she might actually like it and go on a date with me." Just thinking about that gave me butterflies in my stomach. So there was only 10 minutes left in the period and i pulled out my ipod deck and started playing the song i wrote. At this second several people already looked over my way and were thinking "wtf"

i got down on a knee and started to sing the song i wrote for her. i dont actually want to type out the lyrics but it was more or less just my way of saying how i thought she was very thoughtful, kind, and sweet. It was a 2 minute song and when i finished the class started clapping. the teacher who was a woman, had this big smile on her face and seemed very amused at this act of chivalrous stupidity i suppose.

anyway, the girl that i sang to was stunned and remained frozen with this embarrassed look on her face. everyone was like "awww" "that's so sweet" "he actually wrote a song for her!"

but she ended up just giggling a bit and was like ".......thanks...."

i didn't know what to do because she didn't really say anything. The last line of the song was "can we go out this saturday night" and since she didn't answer me i felt crushed. i packed my stuff up and the period ended. she didn't say anything to me for the rest of the period after i sang the song. She just kept her head down and ignored any eye contact with me, then she rushed out.

a week later she sent me an email and it said that she hated me and that she thinks i am a loser.

i felt so hurt. i never expected that from her.

anyway i got pwned. i learned an important lesson...... this type of shiz only works in the fawken movies...

P.S. i later found out that someone actually recorded half of the song on their phone and put it on youtube, but id be too embarrassed to share this =) *sweating bullets*

i think what you did was really thoughtful and sweet. Don't let her actions hinder you from doing this in the future.

I think what you did was really sweet. ><;;
How unthoughtful and rude of her to say that she hates you. =l
However you might have really embarrassed her.. so think of it from her POV too

Dude. You got burned. I'm sorry.
I'm not sure what might have happened in that week, but your gesture was sincere (I hope) and gutsy smile.gif.

What you did was very sweet and adorable. But like you said, movies are movies, right?

It was quite mean of her to send you an e-mail about how she hated you and how she thought you are a loser.. because you're not! It was quite unnecessary for her to write such a hateful message. If someone did what you did to her, I will reject them politely. As for whether I would remain friends with them, it really depends on them and how awkward it will be afterward!

must of took a lot of guts to pull it off. Chivalry really is dead. I learned that a while ago in high school, when I wrote this one girl a poem which took me forever to perfect it. I was excited to show it to her; it was creative with mostly humor and romance in it, but the end result was that I was probably some sort of loser in her eyes. She ended up falling for some jerk, or so I heard that he is. And there's more than one incident of this, which lead me to change my ways, killed every ounce of what nice guy I had in me, day by day living in the pursuit of self improvement, and just trying to gain a better understanding of women overall.

If any guy is reading this, ditch the chivalry, it didn't work for the OP, it didn't work for me, and chances are, it won't work for you. You'll only crash and burn; it's high-risk and low reward. There are much better methods that lead to the same route but only with less heartache, humiliation, and maybe pain.

^ I agree.

These daring stuff should only be done when you are sure the girl will accept(relationship, marriage, whatever). You ever met a guy who proposed to a woman he wasn't sure would reject or accept the idea? Lol.

Maybe going down on one knee to sing the song was a bit too much ... but hey, everyone else had positive reactions to your song, right? There's something wrong with that chick, lol, she was way too harsh on you. Please don't get bitter and stop these sweet acts, I promise that normal girls would at least say "thank you" and smile while politely rejecting/accepting you, not send you hatemail wtf. You just happened to pick a crappy girl to serenade.

Wow your pretty brave. I don't know of much guys that would do this as a way of confession...Or maybe its because the guys I hang around are scaredy-cats. I dunno~
But anyways, do you know the link to the video? You should share it..I wanna see~! x)

I've done some crazy things for a girl before, but nowhere near the magnitude that you did!
Wow, MADDDDD props, bro!
Don't worry about it, you'll find a girl that appreciates you.

Seeing that your SN is "i_write_songs" and how your story ended up put me to tears.

But hey, at least the teacher likes you, go for her instead. Sing her a song how her smile helped you to move on.

That's a lot of bravery man. She was probably embarrassed by the situation with your confession being in front of the class, but she could have rejected you a bit nicer without having to send the email. Next time dude, just ask the girl out normal and see if it works. I give you credit though, you're a ballsy dude.

Wow. That seems a bit over the top for asking someone out on a date. It seems like something someone would do when they're proposing. Haha. You're brave though. That girl sounds like an ass though. Don't see why she had to go as far as call you a loser and tell you she hates you.

Dude... huh.gif

She was probably mad embarrassed at the whole thing cause you just ninja attacked her with your song. You shoulda got her alone and confessed that you liked her and then sang the song to her privately. It's a much more intimate and genuine feel as opposed to doing it in front of an entire class randomly. Also, an ipod? Really? Shoulda played it on the guitar. Probably would have improved your chances.

At least you confessed and don't have to worry about "what if" anymore.

Awww, she was really mean to you, but you probably should have done that in private. Don't let your self-confidence be ruined by this! You sound really sweet! smile.gif

Doh!! That sucks!! That was really rude of her! Why would she hate you? She should honestly appreciate what you have done! Geez Louis, girls nowadays! You shouldn't let that get to you at all! It's probably a GOOD thing you didn't end up going out with someone who is so rude!
