So I'm a freshmen in high school, in my school there are hardly any Asians. Today one Asian girl came up to me and asked if I was Korean and I said no, and asked her why she would think that I was. Her answer was that I have Chinky eyes. Has anyone told you you looked Korean because of your eyes? Whenever I think of Koreans I think of Korean celebrities and they surely don't have small eyes so I'm not sure what they are talking about.

I think Chinky eyes just refers to small eyes...not really Chinese people's eyes. Anyways, maybe she just thinks you have small eyes? I have small eyes too and people always tell me they're chinky and a lot of people told me I look Korean too...Either Korean or Japanese, hardly any one guesses that I'm Chinese....x.X maybe also cus my eyes are heavily single lidded

Aren't FILIPINOS usually considered asians? Isn't Philippines in ASIA?

Anyways, actually there isn't much difference in the chinky eyes unless you pay attention to details. It must have been your facial structure that somehow reminded her of Koreans. Korean Celebs usually has big eyes, this is usually a factor which made them celebs, but most of my Korean classmates have chinky eyes, they all want big eyes.

but this thread is more of a personal thing, like he/she doesn't get why some one would mistaken them because of their eyes, the OP isn't saying things like one ethnicity is better than the other and etc.

I'm still trying to figure out the OP's purpose in posing the question. First, You're assuming that people of a certain ethnicity(in this case Korean) have specific traits in all it's people. Second, you're taking the image of Celebrities and applying their looks to a whole nation. It's like saying all Americans must be in good shape, sexy, and good looking cus American celebrities are.
