I'm quite a fan of classical music, and I'm sure some of you are too, but is anyone into...
jazz?

all of these genres, including a few more, definitely strike a chord within me.

i could go on forever. my bookmarks folder is filled with thousands of instrumental youtube links. i don't have much modern instrumentals though. would love to add a few to my folder. something like the links in post-rock, but dirtier, less predictable and use of more modern instruments like sythesizers.
jinskee you play an instrument?

I was never into jazz but I think I'm starting to appreciate jazz now, especially the old ones. Thanks for posting that! : D
Can you guys recommend more? I really like the old school jazz xD
I think the only instrumentals that I listen to are acoustics and piano pieces : P

had a feeling you played. i think people who play an instrument appreciate instrumentals alot more, even music in general.
yoshida brothers are interesting, but my feeling towards their music is that it is more of a gimmick. i feel the same about the way jake shimabukuro plays the ukele.
what about film soundtracks?
heres one from joe hisaishi. composed for the film 'brothers'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6NjE45pywo
the assassination of jesse james. nick cave was a part of this, thus automatically making it epic.

the bad thing about film soundtracks is most can sound incredibly cheesy overtime.

was digging out music i was listening to like 10 yrs ago. and found this album i totally forgot about.
dj krush and toshinori kondo.
kind of the stuff i'm seeking out for in regards to the use of modern instruments. but still want to hear something alot 'dirtier'.

David Lanz (Piano) - his style is comforting and romantic
My favorite song: Cristofori's Dream
Ludovico Einaudi (Piano) - minimalist, but pretty epic at the same time
My favorite song: Primavera
Jake Shimabukuro (Ukulele) - fast and fun fingerwork, sometimes quite thoughtful (not all of his material is gimmicky)
My favorite song: Me And Shirley T.
mouse on keys (Jazz/Post-Rock) - fusion like you've never heard before
My favorite song: Seiren
Taro Hakase (Violin) - classical violin used in so many different ways, master violinist
My favorite song: 万讃歌
E.S. Posthumus (Soundtrack/Score) - stuff you might hear in OSTs, and some stuff you actually do hear in OSTs
My favorite song: Pompeii
Yann Tiersen (Soundtrack/Multi-Instrumentalist) - whimsical French music, best known for Amelie soundtrack
My favorite song: La Valse d'Amelie (Orchestre)
Other artists I also like:
2nd Moon (Korean/new age group),
Dax Johnson (Piano, RIP),
Detektivbyrån (Like Yann Tiersen's work on crack and over-the-top usage of the xylophone),
Itzhak Perlman (Violinist),
Joe Hisaishi (obviously, who doesn't?), and
Yiruma (obviously, who doesn't?)
