Should I seriously not have asked? I couldn't help it. It's obvious why I wanted to know.. but I didn't know it was so wrong to ask why..

One: Are you close with her? If you two aren't close as friends, then it'd be awkward.
Two: She's annoyed that you keep going into her personal space.
Three: She's too embarrassed to tell you why she likes him so she covers it up by being mad.
BTW I don't think this has anything to do with gender, it's more of what kind of relationship you two have.

Otherwise.. yeah I agree with the 2nd reply, she probably felt embarrassed since you asked, I mean what if the answer was because he was hot? hah. IMO it's a odd question to be asking a girl and not really your business if you know what I mean.

I, myself wouldn't get mad or offended about it.
Maybe she's sensitive?

OH OKAY I'M A GIRL .
ohhh. hmmm.
well you wanted to know, kay who doesnt.
umm. she might had been pissed cuz you might had shown some signs of being.. PROTECTIVE when you don't rightfully claim her (wow just felt a lawyer moment there).
ahh really.. i dont have much of a clue on this one. well it was none of your business... i can understand that. just let it past. or.... apologize or something.
AHH I DUNNO. im not really a.... girl who likes someone easily so i dont get into these situations often (NEVER).

It's either she's really sensitive, she has no plausible reason or maybe it was your tone which was offending to her.

or the way you asked her?
are you close to her? lol.
easily offended :P ?
if i was her and you were a close friend,
i'd feel somewhat upset, but not to that extent o_O
like, kinda annoyed that you're asking me about something like this,
but since you're close okay, i'll let it ou.
but if you aren't close, then, of course it'd be awkward ~_o !
i'd be pissed as hell, LOL.
but yeahhh o_~ .
but then again, i'd feel uncomfortable with everything on that subject in the first place :P

1) how close are you?
2) how did ask the question?
3) what was the situation? casual? etc..
If you are not that close then she could be like "WTF we aint close why you even asking?!?!"
How you said it too like "why do you like HIM" could be offensive cos your questioning her taste
Situation like if it was around a lot of people ~ then she be like "not around so many people!!"
but in any case ~ she shouldnt of got THAT upset with it ...

Is she like a little dramatic primped up queen fluffball? Because she sounds real snobby. And you sound real nosy.

Naturally when you like someone, you would be curious if the person you like like's someone else,
and if they do...why do they like that person?
What you did was normal.
The girls was probably either uncomfortable telling you the reason, doesnt have a reason(she doesnt know why she likes him), she feels you have nothing to do with it<-- what you said she said etc.
You did nothing wrong in my opinion, but of course for her it's different.
Still, dont regret having asked.
