Hey all, since April or so, California ARB has required gas stations to modify their fuel nozzles to supposedly trap more fuel vapors.
This has affected a noticeable amount of our customers' cars, and I've experienced it personally on my car as well. What happens is when you're filling up at the gas station, the nozzle will prematurely click off after only filling half a gallon, or sometimes up to 3/4 of a tank.
I mostly see it on late model vehicles with more advanced versions of ORVR, but even older vehicles with basic EVAP can have the issue. I've just been wondering if it's limited to certain vehicles, or certain types of vehicles. We think it has something to do with the way the new condom for the fuel nozzle fits onto the vehicle's fuel filler neck, but there's no way to be sure.
Have any of you noticed difficulties in filling up your tank at the gas station?

Been happening here in Aus for long time now. Pretty annoying when i'm too lazy to pay attention and just shove it in and pull lol. Happens on my mum and dad's car, as well as mine blah.
I just pull the lever back 3/4 the way and it's fine.

I wouldn't know, I removed the charcoal canister on my subaru so it's always clicking off every 30 cents or so.
