Women aren't funny. The one's that attempt stand-up and entertainment are either hefty, dykey or Jewish ... or some weird combination of the three. They play by the mens' rules.

i agree with this. people saying this thread is sexist need to understand the point. girls get jokes... they just cant tell em... (im not being 100% serious either.... i wrote lots of essays in college)...
this is just a fun thread. if u ladies can tell me a joke and make me laugh, i'll back down from my stance.

I think the most honored and funny woman comedian would be LUCILLE BALL, shes epic, I have to say shes the best.

Girls are a lot more self-conscious.
But there are a lot of funny women out there.
Are you talking about stand up comedy funny or just funny actors?
Cause Lucille Ball and Lisa Kudrow have made me pee my pants a few times.
And Ellen's hilarious.
But I haven't found one good female stand up comedian.
And I don't find Anjelah Johnson very funny either.
My friends would always watch that nail salon clip over and over again and laugh like crazy.
I didn't understand what was so funny. She was okay but not LOL worthy.
Oh and communitychannel = not funny.
I find her extremely annoying.

yeah i only stated that in case someone said i was being too serious. wasn't meant to call you serious. and i'm glad you went to college. congrats.
i agree with what some people say here: it's not "funny" when girls tell jokes because it makes things awkward. but why does it make things so awkward? what caused us to react this way? my guess is the standard set for girls and for guys. girls are portrayed as the clean, princesses, cute, etc. guys are portrayed as beer-belly, dirty, smelly, etc. (i know men are shown as hunks too but most of the time, no.) now can you picture a princess telling a racist joke? how about a beer-bellied man telling the same joke? most likely, you would never hear a princess telling a racist joke. it'll only make things weird. this isn't to say they're not funny.
there are guys who tell funny stories, and i don't laugh, but other guys around me do. and i ask myself, "wtf was so funny about that?" it's all about the audience and how they relate to the speaker. maybe girls blend in easier than guys do. idk o_O (let's not get into that argument)
maybe if you narrowed down when girls aren't funny, i'll agree. however, i will not agree with you if you just blatantly say girls are not funny, because that statement is false.
i laugh at you if you really were clicking

i dont know what i believe anymore. i just know that most girls cant make me laugh personally and lots of guys share that sentiment... i sense some sarcasm when you said "congrats" for me going to college... if so, thats kinda funny.
you seem to be "with it" so I wont talk smack about you but I will continue to talk smack about the rest of your gender until they can give me more than "you are sexist"

ahahah sense of humor varies from individual to individual . i can be quite funny if i want to but my jokes are usually very 'unladylike and ungraceful' so i just keep quiet these days XD

I know two girls that are absolutely hilarious and can make anyone laugh.
One is super sarcastic and witty and the other is plain crazy. But both make people laugh.

One girl, for instance, said "That's what she said!" at our lunch table a couple of times last year. I thought it was funny, and pretty much everyone else did, too. But then one said "It doesn't work when you say it!"
I don't think it's fair to force girls, whether unconsciously or consciously, into that box of humor that only limits them to cute/akward/stupid kinds of funny. It ain't right. And pretty condescending.
Besides, it could be the kind of people the OP hangs out with. If the only girls he hangs out with only make him laugh by being akward/cute, then he's probably not going to find a girl that would do things or make jokes that don't fall in that similar category. I don't think I'd be wholly inaccurate in saying that girls who would make the more kind of jokes guys make are more 'masculine,' at least in their personality or atmosphere, or that the OP probably hangs out with more feminine girls.
On a slightly other note, it's possible to be funny, but not in a more typically male way, nor in a cute/akward way. Communitychannel is a good example of that, as she works with the kind of humor that picks up on the nuances of social interactions. It's funny because it's true, and we see it every day.
Then there are different kinds of humor, though, so maybe some genders are pushed towards those different categories, so to speak. Guys, either the visual kind of humor, more vulgar humor, or one that highlights gender differences. Females, by either being silly/playing dumb or teasing others.

Mm, okay, but want to explain why? I don't see how expressing your own opinion makes a person dumb. At least explain why you think so... and not to be a grammar nazi (but I am), it's "one of the dumbest people ever" unless you were trying to say "is the dumbest person ever."
I agree that most guys don't find girls funny, but girls may be funny to other girls, seeing how some guys aren't funny to other girls when they seem funny to other guys. It's all about the kind of humor.

Yah, I have a guy friend who thinks just like you. He says that only lesbian comedians are funny. But then again he is a self-proclaimed bubble gum.
