I was really skeptical as a kid. But there is one thing that I blindly believed in - that people in ancient China knew how to fly. I grew up watching TVB wuxia/kungfu dramas and movies set in ancient China and you know, people then could fly over miles and miles in just one leap. My cousin told me that this ability could be achieved if one meditates for 100 years. So whenever I wasn't busy, I would just go into my room, sit on my bed lotus-style and just hum for as long as I could. I wasted a countless amount of time of my childhood that way.

LOL!! I used to believe that martial arts shaolin kung-fu freaks could fly. My god....I look back on that, and laugh at myself for being so naive. It was even worse because mother dear fed this false belief. She told me if you were strong enough, you could fly.

Oh, and I never knew such a horrendous thing as sexual intercourse existed. I was pretty sheltered as a child, and school was rather insular. I found out about it....at 12....and have been scarred ever since. Deeply scarred.

I remember during one Christmas time when I was 5, my cousin was helping me write a letter to Santa, and she had promised she would send it out to him. I found the letter somewhere when I was 12, haha.
I always thought dogs ate cats, because what the hell, why else would they chase them?

If it makes you feel any better, I believed that even as a teenager. I thought it was a skill people had back in the early days and then evolution happened blah blah and then it died out in us...LOL
I also believed swimming pools were bottomless. I never ended up learning how to swim but it definitely didn't help when I kept on thinking everytime I let go of the railings I could sink down forever and never rise again =/

edit: omg the most epic one- I thought the only reason why God didn't exist was because he lives on clouds and that's physically impossible because they're just made of air and water. I remember I got this epiphany when I received a Christmas card with a painting of him standing on top of a cloud.

uh. i don't know if this relates to this topic but. one time when i was little, my cousin pointed out that i had 'eyelids' (double eyelids). i thought they were a bad thing for so long. i wanted to be eyelid-less.

I think I used to believe that pokemons existed. I remember calling them up, this was done by typing in all the numbers that were on the card like HP and agility or whatever was on the card into the phone, and then randomly going "could you pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee visit me squirtle please?!"

& i used to believe that moving house literally meant picking ur house up and moving it. So when my friend said she was moving house i used to be like o_____________o ! this was when i was like 6-7? so i was amazed that a 6year old could pick up a house LOL!

I never believed in Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, or the Easter Bunny. I remember when I was in elementary school, I told kids in my class that Santa Clause didn't exist and their parents buy them the presents. I also told them that the Tooth Fairy was fake too The other kids were all, "Stop lying! Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy are real!"
