well, im using both. there are somethings i prefer on one more than the other but not that big of a problem.
like for bb, i am able to type faster and more accurate, get to programs/folders faster and even call someone faster. as for the iphone it takes some time because its all touch screen and tends to have a few seconds of lag before actually opening something, and texting is a little bit of a challenge for me but i get by. i like the look of the iphone better of course, because i think bb's look like calculators but theyre so efficient. alot of people praise the email service on bb and i think thats one of their pros too but i dont use the email feature so i cant elaborate. and iphone is well, Apple. I love Apple. and there are so many apps on it. I don't have any regrets with either of them, and to be honest i wouldnt give up one for the other because im a brat, i want both. lol.
so it comes down to...what you REALLY want in a phone. would you rather have the looks/brand or would you rather have the efficiency? would you rather have something simple to use or something fun to use?

One is full touch screen. Some may like that, some may not. Blackberry is more for "business" people because it helps organizes their meetings and typing would be so much better and easier because there's less mistakes when typing on a physical keypad. I think the only thing good about iPhone is the app store/apps. Otherwise, the battery life sucks and pretty much a boring phone.

I just bought a Blackberry recently and I, honestly, do not regret it. Sure... it's not the most glamorous phone out there, but it does the job. It's efficient enough, the battery life is good and it has a physical qwerty keyboard. The iPhone, on the other hand, as pretty as it may be (actually... I don't find it that pretty either), has a terrible battery life. Most Apple products do. I have an iTouch that has wi-fi and I don't even use the wi-fi because it'll drain the battery. Then again, I don't know how much you care about that issue. Anyways, battery aside, I think the physical keyboard on the Blackberry is very useful too. Less typos. Lool.

most apple products have terrible battery life? hmm
i've had several macbooks/pros/airs and the battery life surpasses all my friends windows and linux laptops...as well as my sony vaio. my macbook pro goes around 6-7 hours

2 years later, she bought the iphone 3G s and gave me back my iphone. Now I'm using it again and obsessed with downloading apps lol. The new firmware is waaaaaaaaay better than what I had to use before too.
The cost of being an early-adopter I guess.
I used to hate the blackberry but after using my friends for a big, I fell in love with the keyboard. I like how there's so much definition in the keys, it really makes it easier to type. I wish all phones with keyboards would copy their design.
Despite both phone's popularity, neither are that great if you break it down the specs. I'm looking at the Motorola droid right now as I want a phone that work as close to a pc as possible.

I know that some schools and colleges like the University of Florida's pharmacy program is making all new freshmen students either buy an iTouch or an iPhone.
I've never owned a BlackBerry before so I can't say much about it. I think they look really cool though haha

Yeah I've seen you around these forums, and from what I can tell, you're a phone junkie too ;P
I'm hoping that I don't regret getting the 3G over the 3GS, though. I'm buying it through craigslist so there's a big gap in the prices between them ($300 vs. $600) and I don't want to spend almost double for the S ahah. You have the 3GS, right?

Oh no way! Damn that's better than what I got haha. Mine's only a 8gb, but it's pretty much brand new and I got it for $300. But on craiglist for the Orange County listings, there's barely anything under $300 unless there are scratches on the screen or something :|
Yeah I am definitely keeping my Berry, just in case!
