Don't you hate it when somebody's house is too clean? No, that's not a typo

No, you did not misread the title... one of my friend's houses is so freaking spotless, it makes me uneasy every time I come over. His mom keeps everything so clean, I'm afraid to move around (or even breathe). When we eat, I hate having to use his marble table because I don't want to get it dirty. Hell, even his bathroom is immaculate so I'm hesitant to use it. I end up holding it in. Dang, I mean I like cleanliness too but it's so extreme it feels like guests don't belong there. Hell, I'd rather hang out at a messy person's house because at least I'll feel comfortable there. Anybody have a similar experience or feel the same way? C'mon, I know I'm not the only one.

Noooope... lol. Most of my friends houses are DURRRTAY. haha, I remember one friend of mines who had crap all over the place and it smelled of smoke. I was very close to asking her mom if I could clean their house for them.

You would hate me and my house. No lie.
Because my mom is a clean freak. She used to vacuum twice a week; mop the floor daily; and clean the windows, chairs, mirrors, etc every other day. Now she has the hired domestic house assistants do it. >>;
Eeeeeveryone who has been over says the same thing: your house is too damn clean. Why don't you throw some clothes on the floor? It would make me feel better.

And they'll drone on and on and on...

Well, that is, until they see my room. My room is like a garbage dump.
But it doesn't really bug me whether a house is clean or dirty. 8D

I prefer clean over dirty. But as for guests, I would think they would feel more comfortable in a clean home than a bacteria-infested house where you can barely find a spot to put your feet down to step across. o.o;

Yeah, I might feel a bit overwhelmed if the house is extremely clean and I'd feel horrible for messing it up.
But I would prefer a clean house than a dirty one. At least I know it's safe for me to breathe in... haha.
Yeah, at least I can find somewhere to sit, and not be afraid to sit on important papers, books, and whatnot.

Not really, it boosts them in my mind as clean people and that's always a plus. Plus, my house is pretty clean.

I like things in order. Having a mess is annoying.

My house is very clean... but I tell people to make themselves at home since they are my welcomed guests. If I still see them being too much in a discomfort, then I'll just whip out my p3n0r and pee on the floor to prove that we can just totally feel comfortable... (I have a robot cleaning the mess very well and spray febreeze). Other than that, being by myself, I sure keep things clean.

I host parties and my house is always clean before getting wild but I just start to throw chips and drinks around... gotta have fun... cool.gif (no I don't do that in other places haha)

I don't mind clean places since I know how to keep things clean... but my place is an exception.

Hah, no. Probably because my house is super clean. There would never be clothes on the floor or anything. I don't see how people could live in a dirty bacterial infested house/room. Some of my friends houses are scary..I don't even wanna walk on the carpet.

Kinda. When it's messy I feel like I can throw myself on the couch, feet up and everything, or as if I could jump on their beds like a 5 year old without caring.

When it's clean, I'm so scared I'll mess something up and I try to develop some sort of super power that will shrink me a little. The smaller the space I take, the less chance of messing anything up. Lol. I'm so stiff and uncomfortable in very clean places.

i wouldn't rather it be messy but i'd feel more confortable if was clean but not to uncomfortable point D: like a homey feeeling ((:

if it was messy, sometimes im disgusted but i don't feel really bad making a mess.

Thankfully, my friends` houses are usually clean and same with mine so I`m pretty used to it by now ^^

I simply love it when things are clean and tidy ... but that's probably because I'm OCD like that, lol. I can understand what you mean though, that it's so spotless that you're afraid to walk around, kind of like a museum? I get rather uncomfortable in a dirty/messy house so I think I'd prefer TOO clean.

I'm not the type of person that can make herself "feel at home" even though my bestfriends insist anyway, the first thing I do when I go over to their homes is to sit on the sofa with a straight back and hands in lap while the others usually jump up and put their feet on the table haha.

My house is always messy.

So yeah, I don't like going to houses where it's super clean. My boyfriend's dad is OCD to the max. He cleans everyday and everything has to be spotless and perfect. I'm not even allowed to touch the walls in his house for fear I might leave marks on it.

I think a little mess only makes you human.

My boyfriend's house is super clean. I don't mind that it's clean but sometimes you can overdo it. She cleans the house everyday! She does practically everything in the house. She even cleans my boyfriend's room which I think is ridiculous!! He should be doing it ever since he was 7...he's almost 24. dry.gif He tells her not to do it but she just does. She even cleans his car when she sees it's dirty. He doesn't even ask for it. Just thinking about it makes me annoyed.

She also don't want the cars infront of their house when there is space left in the special parking space for the neighbourhood. Sometimes she asks for his car keys so she can move his car. She even barged into his room in the morning, several times, when we were sleeping to sneekingly get his keys and move his car.

She goes way too far. It irks me.
