I got my ep-1 a couple weeks ago, and while I was at the store some guy was asking about the ep-2, which I didn't even know was coming out. After I bought the ep-1 I searched up the ep-2, and I'm glad I just bought the ep-1. D:

anyway. I've got some pictures, but the quality sucks because of facebook.

oh and I have a question for anyone using the ep-1.
What case do you use? I can only find the "cool-style case" but it's uh... out of my budget.

I don't really see why this has to be a whole thread all by itself... Also, Olympus E-P1 is micro four thirds, technically not four thirds '____'

Anyway I dug out some old photos

Photos of E-P1:

Nice shots. Did you post-process some of those or are a few of them from the pin-hole art filter? Anyways, I can't afford the cool looking cases either, but I just bought this really nice brown leather skin for my E-P1 from eBay. (Too many people have black, so I thought I'd try something a bit different.) Shipping is kind of slow since it's coming from South Korea, but for $15 it's definitely worth the wait.

Btw, I recently got rid of all my DSLR gear for an E-P1 14-42 kit and the 20mm Panasonic. (Sold the 14-42 right after I got it.) Tbh, I couldn't be any happier. Most of the time I found carrying a DSLR a pain in the arse, even a compact DSLR like the E-620 with a pancake, so I knew it had to go. I can see the E-P1/20 combo sticking around for a pretty good while. biggrin.gif

I used the pin hole filter. I abuse those filters, but I cant help it. They make everything look so nice.

Jeez. I can't find any cases that fit the 14-42mm lens. I'll probably have to buy that skin, but then again I really wanted a case because the lens cap keeps coming off in my bag and freaks me out, even though i have a filter over my lens...

I literally had a dream about the panasonic gf1 last night, lol.

I played around with an ep1 at school--is there a way to turn live view off? The guys behind the booth couldn't figure it out, so in the end he just diverted my attention to his film minolta, haha (slick).

I like the look, weight and feel of four thirds cameras. I'm upgrading next year--I guess I'll wait and keep a look out for more cameras coming out.

the ep2 specs as far as i know isn't that much different to the ep1, not enough to justify it as an upgrade. the new EVF is probably the only reason you'd want to upgrade. in the end its too expensive.

i'm leaning more towards the gf1 with its 'average' EVF. but damn everyone baby's their gear. i cant find a thrashed one for cheap.

I got the E-P1 when it came out, and back then they hadn't even announced the GF1. I like the E-P1's body better but I want the Panasonic micro 4/3 lenses like the macro lens and their pancake lens (20mm f/1.7) +_+
