Fact of the matter is, the girl in question has received plenty of artificial help herself, so... the value of some kind of transcendent beauty/attractiveness as social capital seems a bit out of the question for her too.

i know height is major social capital especially in Korea where it's almost a psychopathological epidemic from my p.o.v., but this kind of put it over the top. I'm honestly not even that offended; i'm more amused by this supposedly "smart" girl coming out on one of the more watched shows in Korea and proclaiming that she thinks that short guys are losers. Honestly, i think she just means anyone below 180 cm, which would certainly include me at 175 cm. I haven't watched this show in 2 months, so it was a bit surprising to see the editors... uh.... doing their jobs, or perhaps attracting controversy was intentional.

Plenty of girls here in soompi that are very Korean in culture as well. Want to hear your thoughts on this, and exactly how important height is to you. It's the internet, semi-anonymous, let us know how you really feel. LOL

i don't exactly know how to react to the video since i don't understand korean. but personally, height plays a role in relationships for me. i'd be lying if i said it didn't. idk why, it's just personal preference.

i didnt know there was this ''trend'' with taller guys in girls? well yea we do prefer a tall man to have that protective feeling. but the ''short guys are losers'' part was really offending. she's pretty shallow and dumb to look at a person's height than personality. i feel bad for the suju members they seemed pretty hurt.

This may come out as sounding a bit blunt but girls do not know what they want.

If you ask a girl what you want in a guy, they'll say something generic like, "He needs to be, handsome, funny, tall, witty, etc." However, once a guy that exactly matches come along, they're not too interested.

This girl said height was the most important part in a guy. She said she could not date anyone shorter than 6' and that was her number one priority. However, I managed to date her and I'm only 5'8".

that's my point exactly, i don't care; i think it's hilarious if nothing else. Hell, everybody wants someone more physically appealing and successful. I like tall girls actually, but that doesn't mean i call short girls, 'losers,' right... especially not on national TV. For some reason, despite liking tall, skinny girls, i HEART Taeyeon out of SNSD. This Lee Do Kyung girl just categorically PWNED 90% of the male population. Honestly, i'm one of the nicer guys i've ever met anyway (lol), but i have something against morbidly obese people.... that doesn't mean i categorically call them losers... it just means i'll start the relationship with a slightly unfavorable bias, which is still pretty f'ed up from my liberal point of view.
