No thread about this game? Just played he single player ..short but EPIC. Best FPS i have played so far by a mile. Haven't played multiplayer yet..gonna hop on that tonight. Your opinions?

I'm going to get mines during winter break.
what difficulty do you recommend me to play the first time? (i was able to finish the first modern warfare in veteran, but took alot of tries. hardened was not a problem. i'm usually at least top 70-80% players for multiplayer, sometimes first)

Its definitely harder than MW. I found myself dying alotta tiimes in MW2 mainly because there's enemies everywhere almost. Rooftops and such

i started playing online yesterday and it is really really addictive except for the predator missles that come and kill you every now and then when someone gets a kill streak

I had fun with the story mode... played through my first time on normal mode just so I would get through it, will do the harder difficulties later.
Havent done spec ops that much since my friend that i wanted to play it with is away for a while.
Multiplayer maps are more.... vertical and make for easy kills for people with the high ground. Thermal vision + sinper rifle is too good.

i just got this today.. played till i got sick of dying in campaign,it was in normal and i died a lot 
.. then played multiplayer, it is more vertical not like the COD4 maps but i do like it.. i got to lv8 before i stopped lol

I'm thinking of getting the game for my PS3 since the PC version has been axed... I don't really like to play FPS on consoles, but I can adapt to it pretty well. I'm just trying to find the better deal since the closes Fry's Electronics is having it on sale for $49.89, but they're all sold out. Then there's newegg where they have it $5 off with free shipping.

I haven't really played MW (it was sold out when we waned to buy it! T_T), but I'm addicted to World at War. So...playing MW2 after WaW was a bit...disappointing, I guess?
The game is great, but I'm kinda annoyed how there's no cooperative campaign since my brother and I used to play that a lot during WaW
Also....the online gaming, well one, some of the maps are too 'littered' with obstacles that there's been like 10 times I've gotten lost between them, and two, they've made it so insanely advanced that the first 5 games I played online my mind was this: "....................."
Another thing was that the guns are so crappy! XD I mean, the guns are amazing, but their aiming is so stupid~ TT__TT I shoot one bullet and the crosshair flies to the other side of the screen and by the time I regain my composure, I'm already dead (or maybe I'm too used to the steady aiming of MP40 and STG-44 in WaW)
But I've definitely gotten used to it. I played MW2 immediately after I played WaW, maybe thats why I found it a bit hard to catch up. I love the game now, mainly because it's difficult and veryy quick; it keeps you absorbed. However I still find myself loving the simplicity of WaW more.

^WaW was made by treyarch, modern warfare 1+2 is by infinity ward.
to be honest, treyarch butchers COD series, only infinity ward can make the game properly.
and the guns probably aren't crappy, they're just making it more realistic with the recoil i guess (haven't played it yet)
that makes the player (you) have to be more involved in the game by controlling recoil instead of just spraying like you had infinite ammo

I was too disturbed by the airport mission. I'm sure the Russians will react to this. I know a lot of Americans and I'm sure they'd react angrily if the airport scene took place in their own country. Even if the Russians don't react, it's still not a good idea to raise anti-Americanism. Of course, people who have never left the US wouldn't understand.
I mean, in the airport scene, the player, an ex-ranger, isn't the one who does the rescuing. Russians are people too! My younger cousin is a ranger and he'd consider this game as a disgrace to himself. It's unfortunate that Iraq began over WMDs that weren't even there. I was against that war from the beginning. My cousin realized this too late. Now he is trying to survive in order to prevent terrorism.

But you know, like I said, I was already too into WaW when I played MW2, thats why I may have found it a bit complicated.
And....I totally didn't know that they were made by two different developers. But hey, WaW isn't that bad

Anyways , i rented the game with my bro 2 days ago and he finished today.
this is the only war game i have ever liked.and i mean the modern warfare series. ,
honestly i dont like war games but this one is very good

anyone got the feeling that leveling up is longer than the first MW? but i do like the new options and such... the title/emblem reminds me of SFIV though lol

Yup, no more HQ boosters.
I don't think I'll be going for Prestige this time around, since the new 55 is now level 70.
For those of you playing MW2 for the first time, I recommend going through CoD4 first since the 2 games are sequels and are set 5 years apart.

hmm i don't think game was great.........I'M JUST KIDDING, MY GOODNESS THAT GAME WAS SO EPIC THAT I ACTUALLY GOT MAD DURING THE "WAR" RUSSIAN VS. U.S.A. you'll see guys. Anyways so far online game was crappy for ps3 since it was down for a while. I'm not doing too hot on online gaming since it's A LOT DIFFERENT FROM MW. MW i can get pretty good k/d ratio of 3 or 4, but this game i get negative. Someone told me that this game is more of WAW tatic since the maps are huge you can't just run and gun so i've decided to be more tactical and did way better.
