So I'm starting my second job this Sunday night. Now I will be working a combined 70 hours a week just to make ends meat. Anybody else having to go the extra mile just to survive? Put your trials here...

Save more, spend less.
It's hard to even find a second job.
Where are you from?

Surprisingly, I get by on my bad looks.

People pay me to keep away from their stopped cars at traffic lights or outside their businesses at busy street corners.

So go figure.

I agree... I applied to over 40 places when I first came here to Washington. This second job was one of two places that interviewed me out of those 40, and they called me almost 2 months after I interviewed. Happy to have the job.

that's pretty heavy, I used to do 50 hours or so a week in one job. Admittedly I was living at home so my income went towards the mortgage rather than rent.

Friends, friends, friends, and friends. After years of networking, now is when you have to cash it in.

My buddy was laid off in January, and by March, my company was hiring after being flooded by a government contract. My friend ended up working with me, and now he's so set that he is working on his condo that he just bought.

Hopefully by the spring, another close friend I made in college will help me move onto a better job.

I'm working two jobs that require about 12 hours 4 days of the week (other days are just 8 hours)...so about 64 hours a week, does it make ends meet? Sort of. I paid off my student loan but I still have my car loan to pay off (6k) and credit card debt (4k) and line of credit (6k). In short - it's gonna be a while before I'm debt-free.

Work, work, and more work.
Only go shopping when there are sales over 70% and I keep the hangers.

wow too much D:, I work 40 hours a week and I am knackered by the end of my shift, I am thinking of decreasing my hours but I can't do it....and also I live with my parents so I am pretty sweet as when it comes to financial things....but dude take it easy if you can, spend your $$ on important things....things that you TRULY need.

Better yet, go win the lottery

I work those hours and don't spend any of it on luxury. I'm saving up for school or a down payment on an apartment, depending if I get into school. A higher paying job would be nice, but I barely got these jobs after applying to almost everywhere.
