well it's not goign to look good, but you have to do what you need to. it's just study hall right? not like early dismissal where you can go home right? it shouldn't be that bad.

Do colleges even see free periods?
Our transcript doesn't show this.

you should take a class at the local community college to make up for that block.

Rack up on some extra-curriculars or find a community college course.. maybe even an internship.

I don't think it really matters.

cause in my school, everyone has a study hall.

and even with the study hall, many people from my school made it to harvard and yale and other ivy leagues.

so you're fine.

not taking a class is completely acceptable and actually i recommend it. Colleges put close to zero weight on the fact that you'll be taking one less class. I know i only took 5 classes with 2 study halls my junior year and i still got in to most of the schools I applied to.

umm out of 8 classes (And possibly 33 blocks per week) i (used to) have 10 free. i dont think its a bad thing.. do they even look at your frees?
frees are awesome though.. for my school we have an open campus rule so you can go where ever you want as long as you have enough credits to graduate by senior year

i was going to take a free block for my junior year (which is next year) too... i didnt think much about what the universities will think about it until now

would they really think that im slacking off?
because i just thought that since i'm taking biology, chem, and physics next yr, the work load will be really hard....

would it be better if i take something like SAP or world history? ... although it doesnt really have anything to do with the career im hoping to go into...

wow i'm jealous of your school. our school is so ugh. the principals make speeches at the beginning of the year to remind people and to let the freshman know that once you step outside the school doors and you get caught it's immediate suspension. you can't even go off campus during lunch.

dude my school requires a tutorial and if u dont take it for all four years, u cant graduate. so dont sweat about it! colleges dont care as long as u do good in the classes u take and u challenge ureself!
