i got on a accident on friday (friday the 13th-_-)
i was on the carpool lane on a freeway on the way to
church, and realized i was on the wrong freeway
and looked to see were i was and didnt notice the car
stopping infront of me. and was too late to stop
and crashed into the car. my cars engine was damaged
aloott but the other cars bumper was only damaged alittle
mostly my paint on there car i dont have insurance,
( was driving my moms car) and we filed a report
the police left and the other car left also. no one was
hurt and it seemed like they were planning to settle it
nicely. until we called them today and they said they were
planning on sueing. can anyone tell me what will happen if
they do sue us? im under 18. Thanks

They're suing you for damages to their vehicle because you don't have insurance. You should probably just issue them a settlement price to save yourself court time and lawyer fees.

Did you even get your car impounded?

Well - a lot could happen. It all depends what exactly they are suing for, did they tell you? It is one thing if they are suing for minor car damages, you can talk it out and come to an agreeable settlement. It is another thing if they are suing for health-related issues, which can come out to pretty nasty (my friend is in one right now). But for now, just wait and see. Good luck! =)

If its your mom's car then isn't it insured under her name then? If it is then your mom's insurance will deal with it. If not your screwed.

Do you have a driver's license? I'm assuming you do. If your mother has insurance, then you should be covered. If not, then you're gonna be in big trouble. Aside from paying for the car itself, if they suffered any physical injuries (spinal claims are worst), it will cost a lot of money. Update us on the situation. Good luck.

Clix: theyre sueing for damages. and my car is a toyota, so the front went in alittle but
we already had a accident with that car so when i got in a accident it messed up the engine
alittle, so i we might have to.

ZiGeNX77: no one suffered injuries except for my side i think. cause i was only going like 40 mph on the freeway cause there was mild traffic. and i do have my license.

thanks for everyones reply. my uncles a lawyer so i think were trying to figure something out, but i stayed home from school today cause i was aching all over, but got a call from the other persons insurance company. ic ouldnt pick it up casue i was sleeping ..

Hm... I think that's the case. Pick up and talk to your insurance company. Don't talk to theirs.

The car itself is insured, so her insurance would take care of it. Tho your mom's insurance will increase quite a bit from it. And yours will increase if you decide to get it also.
