Liu Wen Is the First Asian Model Confirmed for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

The Victoria's Secret fashion show walks November 19, and the model lineup is coming together. Modelinia reports that Liu Wen is the first Asian model to take part in the Victoria's Secret show, which is a pretty amazing statistic. Karolina Kurkova won't walk this year since she just had a baby. Adriana Lima will also sit out since she's still pregnant. And as previously reported, Heidi Klum will host the show instead of walk the runway since she just had a baby and hasn't had enough time to get her lady lumps back in the right places. Chanel Iman, a new Angel, will walk for the first time.

Hmmm, She is gonna get paid alot, but I don't know about her as a choice...Because I do find Du Juan's body more curvy, I forgot which show it was and she was in a bikini and look very sexy and curvy.

I wonder if Liu is gonna put on weight to get the body for it like Stam did and after drop it to go back to high fashion runways. Certain angles of Liu's face does not look flattering at all, I wonder how she will strut her stuff for VS because the girls tend to be sexy and enjoy themselves compared to high fashion when they look like they are bored or pissed off.

But congrats to her for sealing a big deal and hopefully continue to walk VS in coming years.

^Chanel is known to just want to be famous, she is good at what she does but she really just wants to be a celebrity and VS is a good step to get to that status. All the normal walkers for VS are all out, well the popular ones that you would like to see in underwear.

Sorry to offend anyone, but she has no boobs (from what I can see). VS is all about bras and undies and lingerie. Most of these girls have some sort of boobs on them. This Liu Wen girl.. really looks flat. Hopefully they will mega-pad her bras.

While I am not offended, I can't help but disagree with you. Like you mentioned - "VS is all about bras and undies and lingerie"...does flat-chested girls (Asian or not) not wear those? I actually commend VS marketing team for choosing her to walk their show even though she is not as curvy as their other/previous models. A lot of not-so-curvy consumers are intimidated by VS, mainly for their display of curviness...but by putting her on the show, it assures them that they can look and feel confident in VS lingerie despite being without curves. I hope, in the future, VS would choose girls of her body type...or even better, plus-size and/or petite...though we all know, it'll not be any time soon. =)

I totally agree!
Being a VS model shouldn't just be held for girls who are only "curvy". Its just like how people are saying girls on the runway are just too skinny. No matter what size you are what matters is that you're trying to identify with every girl/woman either curvy or not. Imagine how girls without curves feel :T .

Anyways, I don't really mind about that asian girl they picked. I was kind of surprised though because I was expecting that Hawaiian/Chinese/Korean girl who models for VS mags. to be picked. But I can't say anything bad because this is the FIRST asian girl walking down the VS runway so I'm more proud than stunned.

yes, i know it may sound bad but yes you have to sell the product. and what sells VS is their voluptous models. i feel weird seeing stick thin girl modeling a bra w/o boobs... idk.. sorry. VS is about sexy sexy lingerie.. well, just hope she gains the right weight.

I don't think the problem is being voluptuous (Miranda Kerr, for eg, is not voluptuous) since that's what push up bras are for (and really, models are generally NOT voluptuous...VS ones included. Wrong term there) but Liu doesn't have the bubbly-sexy look that VS promotes. And yes, I would've preferred Jarah or Juliana Imai.

Still, the fact that VS is finally embracing (well it's a start) Asian models is always a good thing.
