As ppl age the eye tends to become lighter naturally =D(well the exception is when your a baby you have light colored eyes and the pigment in your eye develops when your little child) but other then that eyes get lighter ^__~

When I was 6 I had super dark brown eyes, now my eye are just medium brown lol I know not much of a difference

I'm Asian and White. Up until I was about 16 months old I had blue eyes. Now my eyes are green.

I used to want brown eyes, but now I feel good about my eyes, because I know that it was very lucky for me to get coloured eyes.

its natural for the pigmentation to lighten up as you age, its a biology thing...
it depends on the colors of the spectrum the pigments in ur eyes absorb and reflect
i kinda learned this from photosynthesis tho so i don't know how valid that is for the pigments in your eyes...

you are lucky, indeed! T_T i used to have black-brown eyes, but now, they're more of a medium brown color. maybe cause of better diet? i have no clue.
