Hi,
i'm planning to go to korea in 2010, or i hope so, i just fell in love with this land after making a trip there this spring, so i want to comeback because i feel there are a lot of things i still didn't do!
I'm starting this tread for all the people who intend to go there in 2010 so we can share our thoughts and ideas about korea and korean culture and once decided even make things work so we can meet once in korea and maybe travel together !

This is a pic from my collection about korea:

I plan to go at some point next year, as my school and/or work schedule allows. It's been almost a decade since I've been back, and I have a lot of relatives that I have not seen in a really long time.

how do you get ripped of shopping in korea? you're supposed to haggle with the vendors and give them a hard time about the price. at least thats what we've always done there. i'll prolly be there in june-july for about 10 weeks or so. also even tho i stop working out completely when i go there, i always manage to lose weight there.

they say a higher price than to the natives. thats what i heard. plus one of my guy friends used to work at dongdahmoon. the clothes there are actually worth like $3-5 (the guy clothes) and they say like $15-20.
they might be able to rip other natives off but i know for sure they do with us.

ddeng u lose weight in korea??! how?? tell me your secret!!
i needa know!!
last time i came back from korea my mom didn't recognize me and said 'you look like a hobang' -___-;;

Otherwise, I would definitely be up to meeting. I think. Unless you're boring. Then go away.

I'm going for a month or so before I head to the US Navy Officer program back here in the states.

I'll be in the Seoul area, but I probably won't do much nightlife stuff for the first week or so. I need to visit my grandparents and family. Also, I dedicated the first week or so to visiting few libraries in order to learn and read a few books about Korean literature and philosophy since my close friend's father teaches here.

Otherwise, I would definitely be up to meeting. I think. Unless you're boring. Then go away.

Fair enough (happy.gif)!
not sute about the timing yet but i wanna party all the time!

i think it's because they have rarely occasions to do so if u have 2 days to see ur family andfriends there aren't much time to party hard drink and stuff!

Well, 2010 is the World Cup and depending on how well Korea does, it's should be really crazy and fun on game days.

ur going to Korea uni?
yonsei uni's korean cource (KLI) was pretty good.
went there twice. first year was the best experience of my life <- met 3 of my best friends there biggrin.gif
2nd year was alright.

if u go to the korea uni and they have a field trip, GO!!
if you don't and when ur classes starts it might be awkward since most of them would know each other :s
