Brand of Camera: Any
Name of Camera: Any
How many megapixels?: Any
Does it have an SD Card port?: Maybe
Cost: Depends

I've taken scenery photos with my iphone camera, and trust me I can get some really nice photos.

Any camera will get you scenery shots.

However if you want to be able make a scenery shot look the way you want it (colour wise), you'll most likely end up doing adjustments on photoshop. If you're planning on doing that, then using a camera that is able to take photos in lossless (raw) quality would be best, probably a DSLR. However DSLRs are a costly investment. There are compact cameras with wide angle lenses that are able to take photos in raw quality too, and they tend to be a bit cheaper. Try looking at the Panasonic lumix LX3 or the canon G10/G11, or perhaps the nikon P6000.

If you're happy to buy a DSLR, then start googling for a camera that fits your price range and needs, because in my opinion, any DSLR is more than capable of high res, lossless landscape shots.

Large format cameras? Haha just kidding (well maybe not O_O).

Anyway don't think you need a special type of camera -- just take what you have now and try shooting with it until you're not satisfied with the results you're getting (and until that dissatisfaction can be blamed solely on the equipment of course).

Um... YOU should be the one filling that out, not us...
I don't know how you expect us to know what you want.

If you're really clueless, go to the store and check all the different kinds of cameras and see what you like.
Once you do that, google the types of cameras you thought were good and read the reviews.

I would recommend going to the store and trying out ones they have on display and research the ones you liked on google or something. You can use almost any camera for photography. It depends on what you're looking for and what you prefer, how much money you're willing to spend. Whether it's for professional use, everyday hobby...etc. Maybe once you researched a few options, come back and edit your post for us to give you some feedback.

I personally have both a DSLR and a normal Canon Powershot camera. I use mainly my Canon when I'm on vacation or whatever and DSLR when I want to take professional looking photos.

LOL. I don't recall those cameras being 30K or so tongue.gif And even removing the 0, it would still be over the normal price hahaha. They're about 0.4 K wink.gif

I don't recall those cameras being $400, either. Maybe the 350D used. Canon 40D new is above 1.2k. Nikon D60 new is around $600.

Nice try wink.gif

if ur just starting to play around with photography, there's no problem with just buying a regular digital camera.
they can still produce beautiful pictures as long as you know how to work it, and have good lighting.
i just did a photoshoot today (its in my xanga), and i have a regular, kinda outdated canon powershot. but i like my photos smile.gif

i think huge megapixels like 10+ only matter when you're printing out hugee life-sized photos. but if its only 4x6inches or just on screen, 5-8 is alrdy good enough.

I agree with wiwi_an if you're just starting to play around, get a regular digital camera. A beautiful photo takes more than an expensive (DSLR) camera...(if the composition is really bad, even the most expensive camera won't make it any better).

Get a regular digital camera where you can still change the shutter time and aperture (Canon powershot) and experiment with it. After a while when you got better (if you're still interested in photography) get a nice DSLR.

When I was in college I used my Canon Powershot S50 for my photography class and hey the teacher liked the pictures... biggrin.gif
