Hi, I'm in need of some help. (Hopefully this is the right section to ask.) I'm watching telenovelas as a way to learn Spanish and am in some need for recommendations.

The only telenovela I've seen so far is Corazon Salvaje, which I liked actually, but I'm not sure if it was the best to work on modern Spanish. I was wondering if there were any other good ones. Nothing too draggy or nosensical.

Or, if you can direct me to an Spanish forum (preferrably an English language one) with more information on this, that would be great.

Thank you!

LOL! I watched all of the "teen" novelas...

from Primer Amor to Locura De Amor to Clase 406 to REBELDE (which was my last one).

I haven't watched a novela for the longest time!

It really depends on what type of novelas you'd prefer. I wanted to watch Lola Erase Una Vez,
but haven't since I'm in college now. I don't have time to watch novelas anymore.

Well it is definitely very very difficult to find telenovelas that are short. most of them run for about six months, every day. but , There are definitely some classics that are worth watching like "Amor Real" its fantastic, the most recent one i have seen is called "Lola Erasé una Vez" it was great,i really loved it , it is considered a teen drama. " Las Tontas no van al cielo" was also very funny the other options they gave you like "Rebelde" are also great but personally i only like the first two seasons of it. Mañana es para siempre got really great reviews smile.gif so its up to you. if you don't find anything i'll gladly help you find some smile.gif just let me know

ohhh have been a while since i used to watch telenovelas, so the ones that i'm going to say maybe are too old

> La Usurpadora - This is a classic, its so bad thats its really good(that makes sense to you?) it was the highest rating mexican telenovela in my country
> Rebelde and Rebelde Way - people above talked about rebelde that i used to love, but rebelde way that is the argentinian orinal version is worthy watch too
> Primer amor - kuno becker was my latin lover teenager lover because of this
> Amigas y Rivales - another teen telenovela, i really likes this one
> Soy Betty, la fea - original version of ugly betty, really funny
> La madrastra- it was a success in mexico, really good

The only telenovelas that I watched were
La Mentira and Soñadoras (this is more like a teens one)
I thought those were goods, but they are also old, sorry. I'll ask my parents
which ones they recommend since they watch more than i do.

I recommend Destilando Amor. My mom, my aunts and my cousins went crazy for this novela.
And like someone said before...La Madrastra.

Oooh .. Have you heard of Pasion de Gavilanes?? I don't usually like this sort of novels, but I kinda got addicted to it ( I blame my best friend :3) .. It was kind of fun and the three lead actors were hotties ( well, just two of them in my opion).

You need to fangirl over Sarita and Franco Reyes!! I think it was uploaded on youtube, but I am afraid it's in Spanish. Other than that, I haven't watched any other 'telenovela'.

Hehe! I love them too! They did release a DVD for the telenovela (w/ e-subs), but it's severely cut!!! All the good scenes w/ Franco and Sara were hardly there. That's why I haven't bought it yet.

I believe they've re-aired the drama 2-3 times already on Telemundo? I caught the 2nd or 3rd run of it last year (or was it this summer). And it was nice that there were e-subs if you switch over to CC3 (it was initially on CC1) Hopeful for another re-airing. Of course some scenes were censored due to nudity...but that's American TV for you.

"La Mujer en el Espejo" (you can watch it on youtube, I highly recommend it), it is really old (from the '90's) but I also recommend "Mi pequeña traviesa"(I have been wanting to find the VHS or at least a DVD for this-if anyone knows where I can buy it please let me know).Enjoy.
