Hi! Um so my helio heat fell in a small puddle. And now it wont even turn on. Is it at all possible to fix it? I have to change my phone in a few months so I really don't want to pay to fix it.

And is it possible to get back all the numbers? or are they lost forever?

Hm... I don't know if you can get it to work ever again but you should be able to get the number back. Aren't they usually saved on your SIM card? Then you just have to put the SIM in any other phone.

When I dropped my Sidekick 2008 in the toilet, I dried it as much as I could and then set it in front of a blow drier for hours (in hindsight, this was probably a bad idea, I think I melted stuff).

The phone turned back on and worked for a couple of days, but the battery life was terrible (would only stay charged for about an hour), and then it stopped working entirely.

You can try this, especially if you just want to get your numbers back.

Try sticking it in a bowl full of rice overnight. Uh, I think it has something to do with the rice absorbing all the water, but it's what my roommate's mom tells every time she drops her phone (she drops it a lot!) and it's always worked so far. tongue.gif

One thing pop music is good for is remembering that somewhere inside us is the potential for unvanquishable joy.

i doubt u can get the numbers back unless it turns on. the only way you can get the numbers back is if you "sync'ed" you phone to the helio website/database since helio(s) don't run on sim cards.

if ever you drop your phone in a puddle or just water in general the first thing you do is take out the battery, then take the phone apart as much as you can, if you have uncooked rice immerse it in rice for a couple of days, if not leave it to dry, the worst thing you could do is to try to turn it on immediately as it only causes more damage. i worked for a service provider and this is what i was taught and what i know from experience.
